Overheating

Asked by Kyledod Dec 03, 2019 at 02:43 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the thermostat and
thermostat housing 2001 chevy
cavalier 2.2 liter motor. Now it's over
heating and looks like antifreeze is
leaking in 2 different places. Could this
be water pump?

Did you check the coolant levels? Usually if you have very little to no coolant in your radiator it’ll overheat pretty quickly

Coolant was full. Let more air out of line. Quit over heating. Now when I shut car off antifreeze was coming out overflow. Now I've noticed I might have leak in over flow tank. If there is a hole in over flow will this also cause antifreeze to come out overflow or could it be radiator cap?
