Starter

Asked by GuruZ6WLL Nov 27, 2017 at 04:12 PM about the 2005 Ford F-150 STX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2005 f150 won't start when turn key over and won't
even turn over but will crank if I cross starter over
with screw driver. So does that mean I need a new
starter?

If the vehicle cranks when you jump the solenoid, means the solenoid is probably shot. Is the solenoid part of the starter or on your fender-well? If on the well, try replacing the solenoid.

go figure ??? ive been fighting with mine for years . I have replaced starter several times , even going to new instead of rebuilt. it seems to make it better but never fix it. I replaced fly wheel. there is no solenoid on the fire wall or else where ????
