Truck won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck started jerking and hesitating during
acceleration. Changed fuel filter. That didn't help.  
Continued to have same problem. The check
engine light came on but,  before we could get a
diagnostic done it stopped starting.  It will turn
over but won't fully start. Changed the ignition coil
and MAF with no change. It does have new spark
plugs and wires. Borrowed a reader but it won't
pick up a code. Before it stopped working we did
look to see if there were any air leaks and couldn't
locate one.  No way to get it to a mechanic,  so any
advice would be appreciated.
