I have a 1992f150 4x4  and it goes into
neural when I'm driving  sometimes not
very often doesn't show a check engine
light or nothing and it just got rebuilt 40k
miles ago

Transmission correct? not the transfer case?....check for a bad transmission mount or motor mount...sometimes if one or the other is broken it can cause the linkage to move on the trans....especially when torque is put on the motor...
