Asked by Tammy Apr 05, 2016 at 07:22 PM about the 2001 Subaru Forester S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car won't go into 3rd gear, goes up to about
50mph slows significantly going up slight hills. I
was told it's just a cylanoid.

If the person who told you it is a solenoid is willing to fix it, that would certainly be a lot cheaper than repairing or replacing the whole tranny- I hope they know what they are doing- good luck!
