My 2003 Pontiac will start but will not Drive in the Drive
gear and will make a funny sound when it is put in Drive
gear. However it does reverse and everything else... I'm
clueless and would really like to know more about the
problem and how to fix it l.

Check your transmission's fluid level. If it doesn't show at all on the dipstick, that might be the problem. Fill it up and see what happens. If it shows at all on the dipstick, even if its low, that's not the problem. Don't waste your money on transmission fluid. Take it to a shop and have it diagnosed. It could be something electronic that can be easily fixed, but more likely the transmission is finished. Prepare for the worst and start looking around for a different car.
