Fuel pump

Asked by David Jan 16, 2017 at 06:31 PM about the 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis GS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I check for power going to the
fuel pump on my 2000 Mercury Grand
Marquis? Also will a weak battery cause
the fuel pump not to come on?

You can use a test light checking for power or a digital multi-meter, and yes if the battery is very low would not have enough power to run the fuel pump.

Check inertial cut-off in trunk, check or replace fuel pump relay. Charge the battery.
