Overheating

I have a 03 pt cruiser gt about 4 months ago
my wife ran the car hot and blew the head
gasket I replaced it and it's been doing fine
now it's started running hot at stop signs
and red lights replace the thermostat still
doing it any ideas

do the fans come on when it gets hot ? did you check the head surface for warpage ? coolant is full ?
