2003 chevy silverado

Asked by Eric Dec 25, 2015 at 05:17 AM about the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went to drive my truck this morning when i took off
my engine struggled to keep rpm and died few
seconds later i took the alternator and battery out
and got them tested and they passed. Need to
know where to go from here

Check the crankcase sensor, clean the throttle body, check the throttle body sensor, you may want to check fuel pump pressure and change fuel filter...

What am i checking for on the sensors. Sorry im a hvac tech not a mechanic lol

The throttle sensor in located near the fresh air intake, crank sensor is typically located on a side of the engine, fuel filrer is located under car on the drivers side and fuel pump is in the gas tank...

Sounds like a fuel issue,check fuel filter,and fuel pump as joemom said.

Ok i found that i had a failure in the distrubtor cap. Cap was worn out and part of the distrubtor where the rotor sits broke off and messed everything up. I replaced the cap and rotor tryed to crank wont start checked spark only indicated spark towarda the end of me cranking the engine for testing i ohmd out the coil and it was bad replaced it gets a little more spark but still wont start. Need help lol
