Temperature gauge

Asked by georgebutler68 Mar 03, 2016 at 08:51 AM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently changed my thermostat on my Renault
scenic 2004.  Now the temperature gauge goes up
and down.

I'm worried it's put stress on my electrics and
engine for that matter.  I'm not sure what to do or
what could be wrong, but the thermostat was
bought brand new.

Can anyone help me out with a few suggestions or
give me an diagnosis?

Would really appreciate it!

Did you verify the coolant was topped off after replacing the thermostat? Verify the expansion/overflow tank is topped off to the full line. How much is the gauge fluctuating?

Yes coolant was zll topped up. It goes to the middle then up to 3/4 then back down to just under middle then bk up and down. Hope ghost we helpful?
