make sure your battery cables and ground cable are tight and not loose. You must be hitting the cable in the right place to start it, but it loosens up again when it drives due to road smoothness or lack off, and you're back to square one. If you are smelling a hot smell due to this, make sure you do not have a short somewhere, banging on cables to start it is not a good idea, and if you create a short you could have a fire started when you least expect it. Have it checked out by a mechanic ASAP.
