Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After replacing the motor in my car last Summer, The car wouldn't crank and the Lexus
dealership i called told me how to start it. Unlock door 2x from passnger side then
drive side 2x.. Cranked right up... My original key had broken so after starting it  my
mechanic did a series of pedal dance to reprogram a second key. Worked like a charm
til last week.  and the car wouldn't crank. He came out did this same pedal series...
cranked up... BUT next day, the car wouldn't start after church and NOTHING has
worked. Could it be the starter instead of the alarm system malfunctioning?? or any
ideas at all???????? single Mom here in desperate need of my car fixed! Thanks in
advance!

the Lexus dealership said my key has no transponder chip that the ONLY thing my key does is lock and unlock the doors...So either key would work. NOW i am totally confused. Has this all been about a door lock system or alarm rather than the anti-theft system locking me out? ( Idk why it was locking me out either btw...) Also, my lights, radio, etc all works when the ignition is turned... it just won't turn over.
