truck wont start

have 1/1/2 year old xtra crank battery, but all I get is a single click and that's it.
should I give the starter a lil thump or two? been running great, but it did this click thing once about ten days ago but then started fine. now all I get is this single click and nada. any suggestions?

Check the starter solenoid.... which is the little solenoid on the side of the starter. If you have a multimeter you put the positive probe on the positive post of the solenoid and put the negative probe on the starter case. Turn the key and if it reads 12 volts, then it's the starter/solenoid.
