I was highly impressed with the 4.6L in my 5 speed GT. I was able to get 26.8 mpg even though the manufactor suggested it was 23. The interior could be a more quality piece is my only complaint. May 29, 2023

I find the mustang the most satisfying car of that particular year, 2008. It is classy and very sleek designed. It also has power when you need it. Just a great car. Dec 31, 2021

Great car for the money. Its in beautiful condition, especially since we had it completely detailed. The car also has The Pony Package, which makes it more valuable. If youre looking at Mustangs, and youre a bit of a purist, try to find a 2005 to 2009. The coupes mimic the classic 67, 68, 69 and 70 Sportsroofs(Fastbacks). Some people actually find this age group more desirable than the later models.Jan 12, 2021

Great looking sports car with adequate power and handling. Reliability and performance for the money is tops in the field. New styling more like the older models, leaner and lower profile. With a few moderate add on's, performance can be greatly increased.Jan 12, 2015

This car is very fun to drive, the brakes work well and the car handles nice around curves, however it could use a little upgreading of the suspension. the car has a nice sound to it when you hit the gas.Dec 19, 2014

Overall, it is an amazing car to drive and feels awesome with the roar of the V8.
Definitely a car that will turn heads with the H.I.D kits in the headlight and tail lights. The Cervinis hood gives it a very mean look.Aug 06, 2014

I like everything about the car. My 2008 Mustang GT has Pypes LongTubes headers and a Pypes off-road shorty x- pipe and pype bomb exhaust. Hurst short throw shifts and a f-1 pro-charger kit on it the car makes 650HP on 93 and 780 on 110 octane. It's daily driven and has no problems. Only thing that is kind of annoying is the exhaust drone at around 2300 rpmsJan 07, 2014

Love this car. The total antidote to car envy. The green is amazing. I've owned mustangs for 15 years and this is one of the best ever made. When I quit smiling is the day I have to give up the car.Jul 13, 2013

The engine is small and the power is relatively low compared to other modern pony/sports cars, but the latest generation (2011+) has fixed this. Nevertheless, you can't go wrong with a fast car like this and a growling V8 under the hood. The Mustang is as at home on the track as it is daily driving. You'll fall in love.Jan 09, 2012

I love my car. Its a beautiful vapor mustang. Have yet to have a problem with it. Its light and quick, I love the handling. Its not too stiff that every bump on the road sucks but stiff enough to eliminate body roll around corners. Mar 03, 2011

Fastest car I've owned. Handles like it's on rails, and stops on a dime. Love the looks. Looks mean and gets a lot of attention. Love driving it!!!! Would recomend buying a Roush mustang to anyone. Best all around mustang made. Even faster now with 500hp.Dec 09, 2010

Perfect acceleration and braking :) it handles really well. It hasn't needed repairs what so ever, Its appearance it perfect; no scratches, dings, dents, stains. Gas mileage is at most 29 mpg highway and 23 mpg in town and maintenance is just routine. This car is FUN to drive Oct 25, 2010

I use my car for everything, daily, autocross, even a little track racing once
in a while. Gets about 30 MPG at 60 MPH thanks to the tuner.
I love driving this car, give me a twisty road, and I could drive all day.Mar 23, 2010

Performance - The acceleration in this car is great. With the options my Mustang GT has, its one of the heaviest non convertible models available. Yet I still managed to run a 13.5@105 MPH stock in the 1/4 mile on the stock mud & snow rated all season tires. I've seen timeslips and videos of 2008 Mustang GT's without the 200+ lbs. of options mine has run 13.1 to 13.3 in the 1/4 completely stock.
Braking for street and autocross use is more than adequate. However, I needed to upgrade the brake pads and brake fluid for track use. With the stock brake pads and brake fluid, after 20+ minutes on a road course, the brake pedal was spongy and I could tell the brakes were overheated. An upgrade to Hawk HP+ brake pads and Motul RBF 600 helped that.
The handling impressed me. It was much better than I expected. The newer (2005+) Mustang GT's have near 50/50 weight balance along with a new rear suspension design. Its different than the 1979-2004 solid axle Mustang GT's rear suspension. The front suspension is similar to the E36 and E46 3 series BMW's. Currently the Mustang GT and non supercharged Shelby Mustang GT are the fastest cars in SCCA F stock competition. They usually run faster times than the S2000 and Mazda RX-8 in stock class. After driving this car, I know why.
Build Quality - This car hasn't needed any repairs in the time I owned it. Considering how hard its driven, I am amazed at that. The car did develop an occasional squeak on rough roads after I took part of the interior apart to install a short shifter. The squeak is probably due to me not putting something back together correctly.
Appearance - The exterior of this car really impresses me. It has some of the retro 60's Mustang styling, but updated to fit a modern car's needs. The dark candy apple red metallic paint and satin black stripes go well together. The dark charcoal accent in the center of the spokes on the wheels is a nice touch.
The interior also has some styling that reminds me of the 1960's Mustangs, such as the shape of the top of the dash board, but also is modernized. The instrument cluster has a retro look, but also has a small digital display telling me useful things such as gas mileage, miles to empty, average speed, and gives me the ability to select up to 256 colors for the instrument cluster lighting. Heated leather seats, 6 disc CD changer with MP3 player, and 500 watts powering the subwoofers are some nice modern features.
Cost of Ownership - Gas mileage is good for a 300+ horsepower V8. I get 25 MPG on the highway and 18 MPG in my mostly stop and go driving to and from work. Since the car uses semi synthetic oil, oil changes cost a little extra over your typical economy car, but oil changes aren't required to be as frequent as some other cars.
Fun Factor - The car is a blast to drive. It has great acceleration, good brakes, and good handling. Also, I've had many people compliment me on the appearance of my car. I really enjoy taking drives in this car for no other reason than to drive it and enjoy my time behind the wheel.Feb 20, 2010

What's a Camaro? I think it's the best out of the pony cars. The Challenger looks nice but it's a little too big and overdone. The Mustang is the best balanced of the three. The interior is nice and retro along with the exterior. Although it consumes a lot of fuel it's relatively easy on the maintenance. The car is fast and surprisingly easy to handle.Jan 01, 2010

I've driven lots of Mustangs but this is the best I've ever driven. Great performance - yet not so harsh that it can't be used as a daily driver. Slick - cool and I'm sure Steve McQueen would love it! It'll run with a Shelby GT and if the driver is on his game - he'll leave the Shelby in the dust!Oct 21, 2009

5,000 miles and it is flawless so far. The 315 horses
are utilized fully with sticky rubber. It is nimble, and
handles with ease. It is faster than the challenger r/t
and the camaro, and still gets 28 mpg on the highway.
Its always a blast to driveOct 14, 2009

Perfect combination of style, performance, and speed. I've been a fan of Mustangs since I was a child, and the 2005-2009 model is unarguably the greatest of the family. Would recommend to anyone who is in the market for a new car. Oct 11, 2009

Great straight line performance. You can't beat it for the price. It doesn't corner too well stock - I get a lot of wheel hop and cornering can be pretty exciting if you think you might slip.
I haven't had any large problems so far, but I haven't had it too long. An interior screw was out the first week I had it, which was not cool. It was in the trunk, though, so not a huge deal.
I love Mustangs. This year especially looks so aggressive. The interior is alright, with some nice touches. The seats could hold a bit better, though.
20 mpg, which is pretty good for the performance. I saw about 18 before I got my cold air intake and had Brenspeed tune it.
SO MUCH FUN.Sep 28, 2009

5-speed manual transmission lets this sucker zoom. Acceleration wise, this puppy's got some "get up and go." No repairs needed, and the only thing that rattles is the windows whenever you pump up the Shaker 500 stereo system, I'm talking so much bass it causes people in the car next to you to go into cardiac arrest. The exerior is a drop-dead-gorgeous Metallic Vista Blue, which was only offered in 2008; instant collectable once you consider it was one of the last years that Ford made a GT California Special, and the rarity of the color. The interior is a smooth two-tone, with a light grey on most of the trim and a charcoal black covering the rest. And as far as the fun-factor goes, it doesn't get much funner than this. By the way, this is Michelle's son Zach that wrote this description, and everything is 100% true, I would know, I've driven it :).Aug 27, 2009

Fun to drive. Decent gas mileage for a sports car. Has great looks due to the crossover from old school to new generation. handling is awesome, but factory tires suck and dont wear even no matter how well you take care of them.Aug 14, 2009

Performance & Handling: With amazing accelleration and handling, a truly unique Mustang with Hurst Short Throw Shifter, 4.10 Ratio Ring & Pinon Gear, Shorty Headers, Racing Performance Calibration & Exhaust, Cold Air Intake, and wider tires on a lowered framework.
Build quality: Until I find it, a water leak is keeping the passenger side floor mat wet. Any shifter besides the stock FORD part would improve the shift from 2nd to 3rd. The MGW product added to my last car was smoother and quieter than the Hurst, but the Hurst is a more solid & rugged shift package.
Appearance: Couldn't stand the passenger side BULLITT chrome swirls above the glove compartment so chose the GT/California Special package, improved with blue ZENONs for Main Lights (H13) and Fog Lamps (H11), Eleanor Style Front Fog Lamp Kit and Grill, Shelby GT 500 Rear Spoiler, Dark Shadow Grey Rally and Side Stripe with GT/CS Logo, and Tinted Windows. Replaced the space saver tire with a full-sized polished chrome rim and re-carpetted the trunk area.
Cost of Ownership: $8000 in fuel per season (winter stored for 4-6 months) is worth it. Last two Mustangs were convertibles, but this all-inclusive package justified the loss of the ragtop feature. One must remember to breathe when driving this rocketship.
Fun Factor: The MACH 1000 in my 2003 had 2 subwoofer enclosures, twice as much bass as the single subwoofer of the SHAKER 1000 / SIRIUS / MP3. Sound improves with both rear seats folded down. Otherwise this machine is an amazing package for both the car show circuit and daily commutes! Aug 05, 2009

The S197 v6 is an amazing car, you really get the bang for your buck. It is fairly fast for a v6. It has about 220 hp to the flywheel with a cold air intake and it gets about 28-30mpg on the highway, which is always nice in these times :).Jul 06, 2009

Overall this car is pretty fun to drive for a 6 banger. The horsepower might be a little low for a v6, but the torque is there to assist. On the highway it likes to stay in fifth gear, but it will switch down on command when you tap the gas to give you that extra power to pass another car. The noise level in the car is kept to min and ride quality is really good. The v6 does not come with a limited slip rear so if you want to peel out your going to end up peeling one rear wheel. In the winter the car can become very unstable in the snow, so you want to be easy on the throttle or else you wont be going anywhere. The car looks very sporty and slick and is a real head turner.Jul 01, 2009

I love this car. From the factory it has a great amount of performance. With a few aftermarket bolt-ons, it can get ridiculous. The only complaint I have is that the interior has a few rattles and doesn't fit together that well. Its still one of my favorite cars every made. I get 26 mpg on the highway going 80. Its fun to drive, handling is pretty good for a factory car, competes with evo's and sti's. Never had any problems with reliability. Jun 24, 2009

Ran a 13.85 at 102.7 mph. Managed 29.2 mpg on a
160 mile road trip. Best Mustang I've ever had. Has
great road manners. I get more compliments about
this car than any other I've had. Would recommend
this car to anyone for its value and high enjoyment
factor. The gearbox is smooth and the car has great
throttle control.Dec 31, 2008

It is a great card to purchase and tune. If you are
buying it simply to keep it stock then dont butter.
Soft suspensions, high ride, low grip and especially
no visibility in the mirrors when parking. If you add
some engine power and some solid suspensions
that also lower the ride about 2 inches then you are
golden. As for the interior, air conditioner lacks
breath and the seats could use a bit more tuning
for comfort. Gas mileage is alright even though it
keeps going up after months of driving as for the
insurance, it adds up to about $320 a month.Aug 02, 2008

The GT was designed to go fast and straight, not for a "rip it and grip it" ride. I am currently looking into the KR for just that reason and performance design enhancement.
What I did love was the power and the retro design of the new models. I believe that Ford has singlehandedly brought back the love for a real design in a car.Jul 18, 2008

When I test drove this back in November, I fell in love. I test drove a 5-speed. The short throw shifter was very, very nice. I was shifting gears simply with my fingers. The roar of the exhaust when putting the pedal to the metal was beautiful to my ears. I wish I could afford one :/May 30, 2008

The Mustang has always been a favorite of mine. It not only possesses a sleek appearance, but a well-built engine inside and power that astounds even the hardest of critics. Besides the inexplicably stunning outside view, it has a comfortable and sporty interior, well conditioned for the driver who is accustomed to both comfort and quality. But that's just the beginning. The Mustang has speed that no other [legal] car on the road could dream of. This model's acceleration has surpassed even the toughest competition, including the Chevrolet Corvette and the Dodge Charger. This is why I use this car in drag races; its speed leaves other competitors in the dust in only a matter of moments. I've only had this car for a couple months, since, say, December, but it has proved to be a definite gift. The Mustang has, in my possession, only gone about five hundred miles total, as I have typically only used it for either making a grand entrance or making a spectacular dash for the finish line. This car is an absolutely amazing ride with a sick attitude that commands attention from everyone else on the road.May 09, 2008

This is one awesome car, it has everything, great stereo, great handling, great looks, great speed, and loads of fun to drive. I would definetly advise people to buy this car as a standered, its almost a sin to have this car as an atuomatic! I personaly do like the convertable, but if u have the money go for the GT 500.May 08, 2008
