2018 eco diesel failed

Asked by Harleymarine1 Dec 12, 2022 at 04:06 PM about the 2018 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine rod shot through my windage plate while driving 45 mph down the

road.  I had 53k miles on my truck and all service records were within the

proper time frame.  Has anyone else heard about this issue.

Dealership is replacing the entire engine. What is my next step? How do I

depend on a rebuilt engine ?

Are you still in warranty? If so, let the Dealer replace the engine, then trade it in somewhere else. Jim

James, Yes, thankfully it was under warranty. They are replacing the entire engine block. I agree, it will be traded in, the terrible part is the truck is paid off. Thanks for your response.
