So my husband has a stick shift Volkswagen Jetta.. did
wires plugs and air intake.. all was good and fine then
check engine went on.. now if you start it and drive for ten

Sounds like something got messed up during the work, what is the code that shows up when the check engine light turns on?

Did you replace plugs, ignition wires, and air filter because the car needed it? What conditions were present before that work was done? A ten minute drive is all it takes for an engine to warm up or even overheat, or for weak parts to be affected by heat. There are a lot of parts that can cause problems like yours when they get hot: coils & sensors. Could be a vacuum leak that might have been caused when that work was done, or even a weak fuel pump. All this is just diagnostics. I suggest you stop wasting time and have a good mechanic diagnose this so you can get on with your life.
