Asked by Guru939TGL Jul 20, 2023 at 09:30 PM about the 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD with Technology Package

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my 2010 acura tl. All of the sudden the motor
had no power but all my lights air everything electrical
stayed on. I pulled over but the car will no longer start. Tried
to jump it thinking it was the battery...no luck. I have
checked the fuses and the gas pump dose turn on. When I
try to start it it turns over but that's it. When trying to start it
the starter dose get hot. Any ideas on wha tit could be?
Thanks in advance!!!

Any codes? Could be a cam/crank sensor, broken wiring, security system malfunction, just so many things it could be. Find a good independent shop in your area and have it checked over. They may need to do a live data scan to see what the computers inputs and outputs are showing.

If you don't know how to diagnose a problem like this, you need to have codes read to narrow down the area where the problem is. It might be an overheating problem where heat causes electrical current to not run in parts of the engine. It might be fuel blockage, or vapor lock, for the same reason. Or it might just be a defective ignition switch. This is what mechanics get paid to do.
