wont crank but all the interior lights come on

step on the brake pedal may seem hard but engine will not crank. sometimes it
will other times it wont. rainy weather doesn't help.

Sounds like a bad starter , make darn sure you use a memory saver if you disconnect the batt . See if the headlights are nice and bright next time , check for relay

Does it make any kind of sound art all? If it makes one click then usually it is the starter.

You said that pressing the brake peddle seems hard. It seems that you have a problem at the brake master cylinder that's occasionally preventing the peddle from depressing completely and closing the circuit to the starter. I'm guessing it works when you press really hard. Fix the brakes and the engine will return to starting normally.
