The RS trim, which we tested, had a base MSRP of $30,298, but options pushed the price to $37,653. Despite its stylish interior, the cabin was filled with hard plastics, making the higher price tag seem unjustified.

In contrast, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE received a subtle exterior makeover that might have gone unnoticed by many. The front grille featured clever Mercedes star logos, and changes to the headlights and taillights were more apparent when compared directly to the previous model. The GLE 450e we tested was finished in Twilight Blue metallic with 21-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, giving it a sophisticated look. Inside, the GLE 450e exuded luxury with Macchiato beige and black leather upholstery and natural grain brown walnut trim. Mercedes offered a wide range of interior colour choices and trims, ensuring a high-quality cabin in this competitive segment.

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer was powered by a turbocharged 1.3-litre three-cylinder engine, producing 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm. This engine made the Trailblazer feel lively, especially with the AWD option, which included a nine-speed automatic transmission and a more advanced rear suspension.
