What’s New for the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V
The Cadillac Lyriq-V is all-new for the 2026 model year. It brings a performance variant to Cadillac’s EV lineup and also happens to come packed with all the high-end features the model range has to offer. With competitive horsepower ratings and a comfortable, family-sized interior, the Lyriq-V appears poised to challenge the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N for market share.
Design
The Lyriq-V certainly looks the part of a Lyriq-based performance vehicle. It features the same elegant (if somewhat hearse-like) elongated wagon shape and all the sleekness available to EVs, with a few notable enhancements. The standard Brembo brakes can be optioned with the buyer’s choice of red or blue calipers — nothing subtle, but it’s a head-turner anyway. The Lyriq-V is fitted with 22-inch wheels by default that features a unique design etched with the V-Series logo, which also appears in badge form on the rear doors and the liftgate. Cadillac has made carbon fibre accents available for the Lyriq-V and also offers it in an exclusive colour called Magnus Metal Frost, which looks great paired with the performance model’s standard black roof.
Powertrain
Even in its dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) form, the Cadillac Lyriq we’ve gotten to know over the last few years is lauded more for its comfort than its quickness. The new Lyriq-V aims to introduce a truly sporty drive to the lineup. In addition to standard AWD, its two-motor configuration offers a combined 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Cadillac is currently estimating a 3.3-second zero to 96 km/h time for the Lyriq-V when Launch Control is engaged and its Velocity Max feature is activated.
Further features unique to the Lyriq’s performance variant include Competitive Mode, designed to improve agility through traction management, and a customizable V-Mode that allows drivers to save their preferred settings.
As in the standard Lyriq, Cadillac uses a 102-kWh battery pack to support all this performance. In the Lyriq-V, it’s good for a manufacturer-estimated range of up to 459 kilometres on a single charge.

Interior
When it comes to interior design, Cadillac seems to have treated the Lyriq-V more as a trim than as a distinct model. Photos indicate that it closely resembles the standard Lyriq on the inside with special touches that distinguish it as a more elite version. These include a V-Series emblem on the steering wheel and in the illuminated sill plates. V-logo seatback embroidery is also available, as is V-patterned quilting. The paperwood interior trim that’s offered in the regular Lyriq is standard in the Lyriq-V. The latter also features power-adjustable seat bolstering in the front row, hinting at its sporty nature. Overall, the cabin appears both tech-forward and opulent, just as we’ve come to expect from Cadillac EVs.
Technology
A massive 33-inch LED display is standard on both the Lyriq-V and the Lyriq. It combines a control panel, the driver information display, and the infotainment system in a single curved pane that dominates the dash. Additional standard goodies for the Lyriq-V include a dual-pane augmented reality head-up display and a 23-speaker AKG Studio sound system with Dolby Atmos.
