I love the look of this vehicle and honestly dont see anything out there even today that i like as well. Its just a classic boxy rugged looking beauty! Extremely reliable, easy to drive, great vision and not so huge as to cause a problem parking and maneuvering in traffic. The older it gets the more im glad i have it!Apr 15, 2013

Power is very limited especially uphill, Build quality is good for it's age started squeeking the last year or so, Very reliable has never had a major breakdown, handles exceptionally well on gravel and sand, Can be difficult to park due to the spare wheel being on the back, Excellent on fuel seems to run on the smell of an oily rag, lacks in styling being rather square and boxy.Jan 06, 2012

I have owned my Pathfinder for 6 years now, and it has been there for me. I have taken the time to learn how this car works, its good and bad. My family and I will say that we've had sooo much fun in this car. From driving up grassy hills to get out of traffic, to fording through 3 feet of flooded streets, and plowing through 2 to 3 feet of fresh NYC Blizzard. Truly an awesome car to have, and keep running as long as possible.Jul 25, 2011

Good old reliable Nissan Terrano 2.7Litre Turbo Diesel just keeps going along. Use mainly as day to day transport and some off road frolics now and then.
4WD works well hasn't let me down, however I don't do any really exciting tracks in it, I'm too old to get stuck in mud and snow these days.
Very good economy, just what you expect from diesel, could use a bit more power though.
Comfortable enough to drive all day on regular roads, I have driven more than 1000kms in one day with no problems even when towing large trailer.Feb 25, 2010

Pretty good car, fun offroad ability. I never got stuck and I used to live on a farm so that says a lot. Mine got pretty back gas mileage but I don't know why. It's a Nissan, common. I had great fun in this vehicle, the 4-wheel drive is amazing. With proper care it will last you a long time, I had over 220,000 miles on it when I sold it. Great CarNov 30, 2009

It rides nice. It can go over anything. Ive had it for about 3 years and its never broken down on me yet. Great car, great quality but terrible gas mileage. Basically all in all its a sexy car. Nissan...naturally capableNov 05, 2009

Amazing car, it takes care of me real good, great ride quality, great power for what it is, and nice amount of tq. the space inside is amazing, cargo and other riders, the 4x4 is also very capable of more or less anything you can throw at it... Sep 23, 2009

Great SUV, plenty of room, nice features, not to bad on gas, great for outdoor stuff, built like a tank without the size, dependable, great starter car, fun to drive if you like off roading, clear coat is starting to come off the hood, and the dash is cracked a bit, but other than that she is perfectSep 21, 2009

It was great little SUV. Not real roomy, but comfortable. I could pull my boat as long as there weren't a lot of hills. It was very sporty and real fun to drive. I never had a problem with it.Jun 29, 2009

Overall a great vehicle. Entertaining to drive, nice SUV quality with better then SUV gas mileage. Mine has 31" tires on it so the ride height is taller then most of them. Also has back seat arm rests that flip down from the seat, for the BALLAS in the back seat....Jan 26, 2009

this truck is a great machine for any terrain, snow, mud, water and pretty much anything, this thing's got tons of horse power and great traction with it's 4X4 on, Gas may be an issue but this ain't a problem when you want a reliable and powerful truck.Dec 22, 2008

the truck is very awsome. i love the 5 speed manual. this truck is going to get me through everything this winter. for an 88, its in very good shape all around. i have taken it offroading a few times and never gotten stuck, even in the thick mud and big stumps.Aug 29, 2008

Incredibly reliable. The only repairs I have done were due purely to previous owner neglect and age. Impressed with the fit and finish of the interior, the overall appearance, and the ease of regular maintainence. Not the best ride on the road, but I love it. Big plans in the future to really make it more "me."Jul 29, 2008

best handling light-duty truck of its time! an age before the SUV!
tough and rugged, it survived the hell i put it through! well built and great quailty workmanship!
rare great 2 door styling for off-roading before family use.
Fun vehicle to drive a bit underpowered but can move once you get it going!

The "hardbody" version of the Pathfinder of the 80's were simply the best designed Nissan SUV ever. The XTerra tried to re-capture the spirit, close...but didn't quite make it.May 08, 2008

Reliable and unkillible under normal on and off road driving, and can still hit above 100. Only real problem is the gas mileage is around 14 tops, which isn't the worst for its age and weight. It can handle great on and off road, even able to take turns at speeds that would cause any other suv to flip. May 07, 2008

Overall quality keeps up with nissan standards of greatness. Engine is very reliable, as well as drivetrain. Handles well for an suv and acceleration tops all others in its class. Is a great candidate to get bagged and dropped like i am doing. Interior design once again is great, especially the 8 speaker sound system. Will look amazing after im done dropping it, shaving it, and swapping in a tt z engine and suspension. :)Apr 12, 2008

I just got this truck and I have had to replace the starter and the battery. It has 204K miles and runs great. There are some minor things needing repairs, but normal for the age amd milage. Oct 20, 2007
