The Kia Optima personifies value. The styling for the 2008 was subtle and pleasant (of course the latest body style is far more audacious and bold!) and the car had great gas mileage (somewhere between 31-34 depending on has the car was driven and maintained). But the biggest thing about the EX trim with the V6 engine is that its hard to find a car so new, with so much for so little (as in price!). Its simply a GREAT VALUE!Nov 15, 2013

This is one of my most favorite cars I have owned in 35 years. It looks classy, runs great, and has been extremely reliable. The interior is roomy and has good head clearance. The seats are comfortable and easy to clean.Jan 12, 2013

Talk about value for the money. This car has been a good and relatively reliable all around family car with plenty of comfortable space for four (sometimes five). Looked at Accord, Fusion and Sonata and ended up with Optima.
Great rear seat leg room - much better than Fusion.
Gave up more supple leather and more horsepower from the Sonata, but paid 10% less.
Liked styling and additional standard equipment and better mileage than Accord.
Needs better front seats. Newer versions have improved the leather but cut down rear seat headroom.Jul 26, 2012

Best car ever! I will definitely stick with this make of vehicle. Very happy
with their performance. It's a 4-cyl luxury car that has a DOHC engine. It's
like driving at least a V6 with a cold air intake. Love. Love. Love. Not to
mention the steering is really tight. It's awesome. Roads with lots of bends
are my favorite.Oct 20, 2011

I drove a lot of cars. For the price quality and warranty, its miles ahead of anything else. 14,500 miles and not 1 problem! A toyota with thew same option is 10000 bucks more, You just can't beat it!Love the stereo and navagation system.May 12, 2010

I loved this car when it was mine. Nobody had it or knew what it was. However when i first got it i hated it because i thought it was a girl car but it grew on me. I had so many memories in this car. Even got it up to 137 :-DDec 04, 2009

I was surprised at how nice a car I got for my first car. Was looking at an earlier model Hyundai Accent GT, turns out the bank wouldn't touch it because of the miles, and I got the Optima instead. Great car. All you could ask for, really. Comfortable sedan with plenty of room in the front and back. Lots of trunk space, far more than most cars I've been in. Great gas mileage, which is good because I commute to college every day. Got it in pristine condition, no complaints on sturdiness or performance. Good sound system. If you're looking for a good all-around car that will do its job well and last you a long time, look no further than an 06 Optima.Oct 25, 2009

For a 4 Cyl, the acceleration is very good, and is a TON of fun to drive. The appearance could have been a bit for B.A., but I think overall it looks fairly nice. The gas mileage is really good too. Interior is easy to keep clean, although the back window is a mother effer to clean from the inside!Sep 15, 2009

Good car, great on gas. Consistantly gets more than 30 MPG and has decent pickup. Fairly reliable, never hesitates and the standard transmission is very simple to use. The gas tank is the largest I've ever seen on a 4 banger, at over 18 gallons.Jul 01, 2009

Can hit a deer doin 60 mph and and live to tell about it (me not the deer). Air bags didn't deploy but it left the deer in pieces all over the road. Damage to car wasn't that bad considering we hit dead center.May 13, 2009

runs well. A lot of miles on it already. But lots of cheap plastic parts. Yuck. Overall, a good car though. My loan sucks though and so did the Kia dealer that sold it to me, but they went out of business. fun to drive though! v-4 but picks up nicely. sports car in a sedans body.Dec 04, 2008

The torque and horsepower leave much to be desired but overall the car is clean with great features like stereo control in the steering wheel and it looks very nice from both the outside and inside. Performance-wise the no-lift shift option is fun to mess around with adn the skinny tires allow for lots of lean when taking hard corners but the hankook tires could be stickier. Also the brakes are really quite good allowing for tire lock-up on dry cement which i've actually had to use twice and the tires started smoking but the brakes are very reliable. Gas mileage is in the mid twenties and reach 30 is driven conservatively. Overall it's a good car with a lot of nice features but i wouldn"t recommend it for anything more than grocery getting.Aug 04, 2008

I like the look of it a lot. Very sporty! Looks good,
accelerates nice, handling could be a little better. I
like the digital fuel gage and the climate control. I
also like the infinity system. Looks good with the duel
chrome tips. I wish i got the leather, but the cloth
doesn't burn in the summer.Aug 01, 2008

My teenage daughter totaled my Honda Accord-2002. Replaced with this car, Lot of extras, nice interior. Suspension system by Mcpherson great, Michellin tires, safety wise excellent, Great warrenty, Excellent Miledge 21 CTY per gallon. Needs more refinement for Left turb and right turn and Sluggish transmission. But a Big bang for the Dollar..... Dec 29, 2007
