I love all the features this 2002 jeep Grand Cherokee has to offer. For the year this jeep is a great value. The only thing missing is one tons and a lift. There are other models, but I like the V8

I would recommend this vehicle to anyone, the very best Grand Cherokee made, power, luxury, first class vehicle, this JEEP could go from, a night on the town, to the most treasures off roads you could find, in Michigan to AlaskaDec 02, 2014

I have owned 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees and they have been great cars. They are fun to drive and very reliable. They utilize the legendary Jeep straight 6 engine which is bullet proof. No regrets with the care at all.Aug 11, 2014

great vehicle - dependable and solid in all weather situations. great utility - able to carry people in comfort as well as large items inside the cabin or on roof.
More than enough power for multitude of requirements and highway or local cruising.Jul 28, 2014

Love the style, the power and the acceleration. Handling could be better, but it is NOT a sports car. Bought it used from a dealer who didn't disclose everything. Had to involve the Ohio state's attorney general to get a settlement. Bu the vehicle (once I had the problems repaired) has proves to be competent both on and off road. MPG is not great, but for a 2 ton, 4WD SUV, it's better than most. And a 6,500# towing capacity makes it very useful!May 24, 2013

We have had this Jeep in the family since 2001, and before that it was a lease vehicle. Locally owned, our family as enjoyed its function, power, ability to traverse snowy grounds, sand, and more over the years. Fun car which we have enjoyed, and continue to. The V8 is silky smooth, and has power to spare - torque. Pulls a full sized boat up Cuesta Grade at 75mph w/o blinking. Amazing! The full time 4x4 allows for extra traction on wet road trips and on our ventures to the Sierra Nevada's on snowy trips - our Jeep made this a joy. The blacked out privacy glass, also OEM, and cover in th rare makes for a clean look and privacy in hauling items. One thing we always apprecited in this vehicle was the ability of the rear seats to lay down, making a perfectly flat (flat) surface in the rear of the Jeep. Quite the hauler. Quiet fun. Quite nice! Great SUV!Apr 19, 2013

so versatile and the best most reliable 4 wheel drive available. It has gotten me through soo much snow and mud and weather with the utmost confidence. And it's just awesome looking. But also space for cargo like skis, bikes, luggage. and of course people!Feb 27, 2013

Got this car with 60000mi and one previous owner 2 grand under blue book. 4wd is amazing as is the off road handling. Interior is luxurious for what I paid. Have had some repairs of electrical work, but not terribly expensive.Feb 16, 2013

This is my second Jeep Grand Cherokee and I like it a lot, I have this one for a while and will probably buy a current generation next. The Grand Cherokee is great in the snow, comfortable for everyday driving and always reliable. I have not had any problems with this jeep and I expect it will last for many more years, I would recommend this model Jeep Grand Cherokee to anyone since I have always had good reliable driving with it. Great vehicle.Aug 20, 2012

First off lets start with quality. I have not put any money into this jeep besides regular maintenance things, like oil and filters. This jeep is built very well, the interior quality is nice, especially if you get a limited or overland. The jeep 4.0 straigh six is an awesome engine and will run forever reliably. It has a good amount of torque, which helps it move the jeep reasonably well. Gas mileage in town is not good, usually around 14 for me, while highway is anywhere from 18-22 depending. The quadra-trac 2 and Quadra-drive 4 wheel drive systems a great AWD systems that will really work to get you out of some tough situations.
Overall these are a great vehicle for any climate which gets tons of snow and or ice, or anyone looking for a good qulaity "SUV", even thought a lot of jeep owners will never refer to it as on but only as a JEEP. They are very capable offroad from the factory and with an ever expanding aftermarket, they are becoming even more capable.Nov 07, 2011

Great all round 4x4. Great performance, plenty of power, quick acceleration, good brakes, handles well, good overall build quality, built to last, good looking car, nice shape (not boxy) nice interior (Full leather and wood) nice alloy wheels, cheap to average on part prices, I found it cheap to insure (SureTerm Direct) As for gas & mileage? aroud town 11 - 14 to a gallon but on a run (Ie ..Motorway) 22 - 26 to a gallon, remember this is a big & heavy 4x4 soI think its quite good on fuel. Maintenance / service £90 -£250. Fun Factor....Fantastic.Oct 22, 2011

Safe, economical, comfortable vehicle. Excellent in all weather, spacious
cargo area and convenient interior. Performs great, it's a no-nonsense
vehicle great for family transportation to school, work, etc. as well as long
road trips, state to state. Have loved this car!!Mar 03, 2011

Pretty quick for its size, will keep up with the hot hatch brigade.
~260bhp on tap and oodles of torque.
Built quite well too, no creaking or rattles.
interior styling i typically American - big knobs, green LED displays, tape deck, 10 disc changer. Awesome leather seats with loads of buttons & heating.
I get around 16 mpg, but am running LPG. The LPG cost me £1200 & is half the price of petrol. Tyres have just cost me ~£470 for all 4 - good make/spec.
V8 rumble is kick ass, auto box is very smooth and kick down is good too. It even corners better than I thought!Oct 09, 2010

V8 power is amazing and will snap your neck back
anytime. tweak the tms and it will smoke all 4 tires. if
your looking for a suv that is a gas sipper go buy a
honda. if you want awesome power and nice comfy
leather with heated seats that will burn your ass buy
one. 137,500 miles and the transmission is still
perfect even if everyone says they are crap.Jan 21, 2010

I seriously loved this car. Good acceleration and braking. Just like american cars the handling was too easy. I had solid build quality but like usual american cars the engine and tranny wasnt so good. I had to replace fuel pump too. 2002 was the best looking jeep grand cherokee in my opinion and in many opinions since it was the best selling grand cherokee jeep had. Gas mileage is bad but its fun as hell to drive. especially when you off road. the thing is a beast. Nov 07, 2009

Performance is great, the Legendary 4.0 is just an amazing engine. very reliable, and torquey, plenty of power, and reasonable gas mileage.
The interior is extremely high quality for a Chrysler product. I've never had much trouble with Jeep interiors, but this one takes the 1st prize. The ride quality is also very smooth. For a solid axle Jeep 4x4, it rides very nice. It actually rides a lot smoother than my buddy's 4x4 Liberty with IFS.
I think it's one of the best looking Grand Cherokees, the only thing I don't like visually is how low the gas tank hangs, to accommodate the spare being under the rear floorboard.
Like I said, reasonable mileage, I can get 22 or so on the highway, and up to 18 on the streets, though I usually don't.
It's a blast off road, the full time 4wd option makes it great in foul weather, it's an awesome Jeep I definitely recommend it over any other mid-size SUV in it's class.Oct 05, 2009

Performance- acceleration is very touchy, feels like you're being shot out of a cannon (I love it.) The brakes are also pretty sensitive but not in a bad way. I've had to replace them once already since buying it however. Handles amazingly, wide turns but that might just be my driving.
Build Quality- this thing is built like a tank
Appearance- I love it, can't speak for anyone else.
Cost of ownership - terrible gas mileage but it's worth it.
Fun factor- The most fun for off-roading. This tank can get you through pretty much anything. Jul 01, 2009

This is my 7th Jeep, and 5th Grand Cherokee. The 4.0L I6 is great, even if it's not a powerhouse, it's darn near unbreakable. Fuel mileage is excellent for a vehicle of this type. I've gotten as high as 24, and average around 19 MPG. The 4WD system is unbeatable, and it will go thru terrain that would stop other "soccer mom" SUVs dead in their tracks.
Overall, I'm very pleased.Jun 18, 2009

Over all it serves its purpose. Nice power when I need it and a pretty god ride for a jeep.I'm glad I went for the V8, you gotta love that sound. Handles and rides more like a truck which I like. Great for hauling the kids around town and the highway mileage is not too bad although it could always be better. Oct 17, 2008

This car is simply amazing. The monstrous V8 puts out a good amount of torque and horsepower, as well as the quadra-drive is very effective. The gas millage is not the best (14.6mpg for me, but I drive aggressively), but is effective. There are no problems with the car unless you are aggressive, then your transmission could be at risk. All in all a great car for anyone.Sep 18, 2008

To make this quick, this car saved my life. I was t-boned directly on the drivers door by a delivery van doing about 65 MPH as he blew through a red light. I ended up with some fairly serious injuries, but I've been told I should not have survived the crash.Aug 21, 2008

This is the 2.7LiterMercedes Benz diesel engined Jeep. Great fuel economy for a car this size. The engine has great torque and fairly good 4X4 capabilities. The seats in this Jeep are the most comfortable seats in any car I have ever owned.Jul 12, 2008

Just purchased my second Jeep GC. Love it so much. Hate the gas milage though. This Overland V8 is hitting me in my pocket much worse than my GC Laredo V6 does. Overall Jeeps will run FOREVER as long as you do your regular maintance on them. Feb 20, 2008
