Great features and great value. Loved that it had a CD & Cassette Player. Bought my Sonata V6 GLS new in November 2002. Had over 300,000 miles on it as of March 2021, when it stopped working due to some major electrical problems. Were they not so expensive, I would have fixed them and kept the car for longer. Have rented, leased, and owned other Sonatas since, but none looked as striking for their time as the 2002-2005 models. Would definitely recommend Hyundai Sonatas to anyone looking for a great value. This car has been reliable and useful for the 2 years I've owned it. It still looks like new, and it's a very comfortable ride. The inside is spacious and perfect for a family. Even runs great in the snow.Feb 24, 2015

I bought this car in 2003 brand new and it has delivered. Extremely reliable, excellent handling and a beautiful look & feel to it. The only real issue I have had has been the air conditioning has acted up a few times. Dec 15, 2014

This is my wife's vehicle. I helped her drive it across the US last year. Even on bald tires and over packed she still handled and performed wonderfully. Since then, the car has continued to perform well. Maintenace costs have been minimal, with just normal wear and tear.Oct 28, 2014

The 2004 Hyundai Sonata GLS is one of the best and reliable family sedan in the streets today. Smooth ride, powerful and very responsive V6 engine, easy to maintain and very good resale value.
The 2004 Hyundai Sonata is one of the most easy to maintain sedan. The resale value for this car continues to be higher than similar competitive model on the mid-size class. Very smooth, powerful and comfortable ride with ample seating space for 5 adults and a big trunk cargo area.
The 2004 Sonata GLS/XL sedan handles and runs even better than the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Maxima. The reliability index for the 2004 Hyundai Sonata GLS/LX V6 has been rated above average and high in many areas according to some of the mayor car magazines.Aug 09, 2014

Had few problems with this vehicle. Put we'll over 100,000 miles before it started showing its age. I bought it new off the lot and will be looking to buy another Hyundai over the next few weeks. It's good on gas and reliable.May 25, 2014

The acceleration is awesome, it has quite a kick when getting up to speed and growls a bit as well. Not like a beast, but like it has actual balls without being a muscle car or fancy sports car. The only repairs I've done so far is switching out the headlights, first the right went out then the left. The Appearance looks very nice. The 04' Hyundai Sonata closely resembles the 2005 Mercedes Class E as well as the Jaguar S Type since the Sonata was designed and modeled after these two luxurious cars. This car is fun to drive. I like drifting it around highway exit ramp loops and drag-racing at the stoplights. Definitely a fun and easy to handle car.Jan 04, 2013

I like the looks of the car, but more importantly I love the way car drives and performs. Also, the gas mileage is great for a car in this category. So, this car saves you money from the day it is purchased, throughout the lifetime of the car.Nov 02, 2012

Lots of pep when entering ramp and freeway and merging into traffic, and when passing another vehicle. good gas mileage. Rear window even with front so I can easily see where I am backing. Important since I am so short!May 17, 2012

I love my car! This thing gives me no problems whatsoever, it
runs amazingly and it looks great for being a cheap car. I

needs a car that's going to run well.Dec 16, 2009

Performance is better than expected, reliable, load of space in the car. We bit thirsty, but expected with the engine. Cheap to repair and insure. Like the shape - kinda poor-mans Jag lookalike. Like the Semi Auto gear box, which helps the performance when needed Aug 13, 2009

My Sonata is a great reliable car. It looks great, and handles awsome. I mean its not a truck but it will do for now. It has more than enought speed to keep me happy for now. I love my car and wouldnt trade it for any other CAR out there..give me a truck and you got a deal lol. Jan 01, 2009

This car is amazing. Suprisingly as a stock model, it packs a powerful punch in overall acceleration. Passing is good. Breaking is good. Roomy interior. Stereo is great. Solid cabin. Very quiet. Plenty of trunk space. Overall its got Mercedes class for 1/4 of the price. Never had a problem under the hood. Never a problem with electrical. Handles like a truck on snow. Never would have expected this from a Hyundai.
The car is beautiful stock, (GLS LX Models w/ stock Alloy Hyundai Rims not hubcaps) but I wish it could be a little more versatile on the JDM/KDM market. I want a more solid bodykit. As well as the engine sharing parts with other Hyundai/Kia models, it doesnt make it custom even though its a family car and not a tuner/ricer.
Perfect family car. Perfect four-door sedan. Almost perfect tuner. 10/10 rating.Jul 24, 2008
