Performance: With a 1.25 injection engine this nippy Fiesta is quick off the mark in the lower gears but takes a bit of time to pick up on the motorways, the brakes are decent and handles quite well at speed but can jerk a little if you turn in too fast!
Build Quality: Always starts first time, no maintenance problems up to now
Appearance- Blacked out windows, low profile tyres and suspension, posh headlights make the car look superb on the outside but has a very plain plastic interior on the inside
Cost of ownership- Actually quite expensive to run, mainly because the engine tends to eat petrol, costs around £50 to fill the tank up from empty but it makes up for this by being very reliable and not incurring repair costs.
Fun factor- Great for road trips, nippy round country lanes, can fit your mates in and a superb sound system with a heavy bass and iPod dock makes this car very fun to driveJul 01, 2010

This is the Zetec Climate TDCi as there was no option for this and it is only two down from the ST. Great little economical car, cheap tax, cheap on fuel, fairly cheap on insurance, build quality is great and for a diesel very quickJun 03, 2010

I put 17" rims on my car which makes the car look great but overall i regret doing this because it makes the car drink considering its only a 1.2. I have done 7000 miles since i have bought the car and its still running as good as i bought it, its a very good working and reliable car.Apr 27, 2010

Awesome car with stunning styling. Every detail taken care and rewards a good driver. For the price the performance is stunning but would leave you wanting more (guess thats what the Focus ST is for). Can kill with basic mods and be the fastest for the money. On very bumpy roads the performance suspension is felt. Love the styling, looks stunning and very fun to driveApr 06, 2010

Great little car! Just a Shame its a 14i...
For a 14i its quite zippy
Road holding is amazing! Apearance is getting a bit dated(2006). Will trade it in for the new big brother soon enough.
Light on fuel. Cheap to service. Very reliable.

My general runaround car!
Bought as a replacemnt for my Punto, I was after something a bit more reliable and stronger for motorway mileage. Car comes with the Zetec trim and 1.25 litre, 16 valve, 75BHP engine. The Zetec trim comes with features such as full colour coding, alloys, aircon, electric windows, CD player etcetera.
Being a Ford its very well built, en par with many German cars. Car feels a lot stronger than my Punto, handling reflects this as its a bit heavier yet more convincing. However the car is equally as fun to drive. Interior is a much quieter place to be with less road noise. Floor and boot is covered in a layer of recycled seat material to reduce road noise.
Economy not much worse than the Punto, again just hitting the 40MPG mark on average.

Great performance in a great looking car. Fast and nimble on the road. A bit loud on the highway, probably mostly because of hte 17" rims and low profile tyres. Not the greatest build qualty, but good enough for the price.Aug 25, 2009

Its a reali fun car to drive its cheap to run. Its not an ugly car and i like the interior appearance. It is also very cheap to run and good fuel consumption for a 1.6. Fast then most of it competition.May 25, 2009

performance is good, accelerates well, breaking is ok, steering lock is not good.
Appearence is good, interior styling is ok, exterior styling is nice.
It is a bit heavy on petrol, and insurance is a bit high.
this car is a lot of fun to drive and is responsive. Mar 16, 2009

This car (known as the XR4 down under) is all about F-U-N. No it's not the fastest motor on the road but it's a blast to drive, especially when the blacktop gets twisty and the handling takes over. It really comes alive when you push it, egging you on to go that little bit harder - it's 'silly grin' material...Dec 17, 2008

My Fiesta is the Zetec S 1.6 Petrol verson. It performs well, nippy acceleration (0-60 9.9 secs) good brakes, excellent handling, very direct steering, stable and composed at speed even on bumpy roads.
As for repairs, I've had a couple of squeaks fixed and I had a problem with the clutch juddering after about 6k miles, but this was replaced by my local dealership with no real hassle.
The appearance of the car is the main reason I bought it, it looks almost identical to the ST model but for £2,000 less. It even has the half-leather trim like the ST, I couldn't justify the extra expense to jump up to the next spec, I recommend this car to anyone.
Servicing is reasonable, 1st years is about £140, 2nd around £180. Economy is also decent, around 33mpg urban rising to over 40mpg on the motorway.
To sum up, the car is a lot of fun to drive, as I said above the handling is brilliant and the engine is eager and revvy, my only complaint is that it can be a little noisy when cold.Dec 09, 2008

Actually, I own the S series, not the ST series, but because it isn't in the list I choose the one that has the most in common of the S. I have a Ford Fiesta S 1.6TDCI with 90HP and 204(!) torque. For those who want a semi-small car with a decent push in the back when accelerating, while doing easely 600KM with a gastank of 45 lts, it's a perfect buy!Dec 03, 2008

My Fiesta is not a rocket but it goes for 20 Km/lt and it's really fun to drive it, good brakes and handling, fabulous mp3 radio, lovely color (blue). I use it for about 500 km/week for work, on sun and rain, road and off road streets, it's nice everywhere, so easy also to go surfing!!!Sep 17, 2008

My car is a 1.4 yet is extremely quick off the mark and never lets me down. It feels sturdy to drive and has a solid handling feel to it making it easier to control. It does well for mileage as long as i'm not tearing down a motorway and looks like a very high class car both inside and out considering its affordable price.Aug 18, 2008

What can I say? It's a Ford, of course it's a great car :)
It buggers off for a 1.4, but still has really good fuel consumption. Oh, and it looks gorgeous...
Only problems I've had are from other people screwing it up (scratches and dings). When I find you....
Only regret I have is that I didn't buy the ST model.Aug 07, 2008

Acceleration is pretty good as long as your thrashing it (as it's a 1.4 zetec, build quality is alright although it's still a Ford! Interior styling is okay if a little simplistic, exterior styling is good. Cost of ownership is very good, cheap parts and cheap servicing is good, plus cheap insurance (for me, a guy £800 with 1 years no claims at the tender age of 21) and mileage (if you're driving it nicely) is about 42mpg (maybe 30mpg if you're not!). This car is a right laugh to drive and can also be nice and quiet when you want it to be.Jul 28, 2008

My first real car, bought with my first own money 3 years ago. Already did 50.000km without any trouble. Uprated with derestricted exhaust, carbon direct induction by BMC and ECU remap, around 170bhp and 0-100 in 7.5 sec, max 225km/h .. A joy to play with !
On the cons, the interior quality, quite spartiat compared to the 07 facelift.Jul 11, 2008

Ok i only drove this for a bit considering it was my girlfriends (now the Ex).
I was very impressed with it, i would definatly buy one of these but prob the ST version. Build quality inside the car was very very good compared to my 54 plate Focus. I actually really really like the looks of it too.Feb 15, 2008

Had the car for 4 years, only one minor problem. It's a 1.4 lt TDCi, so very cheap to run, and tax is only £35 a year. Smooth ride, simple controls, and a CD player that gets louder the faster you go!Jan 07, 2008

My favourite car to date. Never had any problems with this car and found it to be very reliable. Great for short and long distance journeys. Extremely comfortable for up to 5 passengers. Would definately recommend to anybody, either single or a family.Jan 06, 2008

Not so bad for a first car, but back in 2003 it was the first time the model had been released, and it was good for the time it was released. So it was quite popular.Dec 01, 2007

Had to downsize to this after an MX-5 so anything was going to be a come down. However, I've been impressed with the build quality and how refined the Fiesta is - much better than my 2004 Corsa was.Nov 17, 2007
