The features are basic but in excellent working order. The 5 speed manual is smooth. The suspension is excellent. This truck was an excellent value at $7900. For a 21 year old truck.... it was in great shape inside and out. Nov 08, 2021

This particular model is well desired for its powerhouse Diesel 7.3L V8 engine and its overall design as a truck, weather 250 or 350 DRW. Dec 28, 2020

I picked up this old truck about 5 years ago for a damn good price. This old truck has so far never let me down. I've put about 100K miles on her and for an old truck she still shines up pretty good.May 16, 2015

Starts and runs in below zero temps without a block heater, reliable, great power and very comfortable to take long trips. Even kids in car seats can see out of the windows and towing 10k does not phase the power or ride.Feb 15, 2015

Excellent truck for the money, bought it with only 101,000 miles on it. I did the proper research and have started bullet proofing the engine so that I can rely on the truck when I start pulling my heavy loads. Pulls anything I want, comfortable to sit on long trips, and easy to drive around town.Nov 25, 2014

I like a lot a lot of things about this truck. I got 240k miles and still runs great. At few times I have abused this truck but never failed. 2 pallets of cement bags in the back weighing over 4200 pounds while towing a 3 axle trailer carrying 5 yards of sand and gravel mix traveling from San Bernadino to Victorville some 80 to 90 mile away doing 50 to 60 mph.Jul 24, 2014

Reliable, heavy duty and effective for towing. Fuel economy good. the big turbo diesel that is easy to maintain is its the best feature. all the rest is typical for the for the year and class. Doors leak as usual in its configuration, but not a serious distraction as it is utility.Jun 13, 2014

After nearly 14 years, this F250 Superduty with 182,000 miles is running as smoothly as the day I picked it up. Hard to believe? Of course it is; but it's true. It's why I've enjoyed this truck more than any other vehicle I've ever owned. The powertrain has held up like a tank. The V10 makes this 4+ ton vehicle move like a sports car. Not a peep of trouble from the transmission. The exhaust system was replaced just once in all that time, at ~100K miles. Brakes last forever, or 60K miles, which ever comes first. A truly built Ford tough truck! I am still impressed. Been from Detroit to Denver and Sault Ste. Marie to Santa Fe, and it's been a pleasure to drive. Whether it's pulling the scout trailer through the Rockies, or the open plains of Oklahoma it's been a smooth and comfortable ride. The back seat of this crew cab is like a living room, spacious and comfortable. We have a tendency to treat vehicles we like as personal companions. When the day comes, I'm going to miss this one.Jun 03, 2014

This truck has been with me since new in 2003, last of the 7.3 L diesels. It rides really good for a big as it is. With the banks power and oversized tires, I still get 21 MPG and never less than 14 MPG while towing my 11K pound trailer.Dec 18, 2013

Good fuel economy for the loads it will pull, great cruising for cross country trips its taken. Ride is nice for a truck, not a Lincoln but my wife is satisfied with it. Plenty of power for daily driving or towing.Oct 10, 2012

This is a great truck with an incredible powertrain. She is getting older and longer in the tooth. But, she still runs great. It will be a sad day when I finally replace her with something a little more economical for the family.Sep 28, 2012

Accelaration, braking and handling are great even after 12 years.
Had to replace a water pump and a few things here and there. Only real complaint is the turning radius and driver side power window is giving me grief. Truck still looks great inside and out. Maintenance on any diesel engine is pricey but it's well worth it. For how big the truck is it gets pretty good gas mileage; about 16 miles per gallon on the highway. I wouldn't trade this truck in for anything besides maybe a 2012 Super Duty.Apr 13, 2012

Bought it from my father. Some performance mods. Love the King Ranch! Rides like a true truck (not like a caddie aka chevy). Even with the stock suspension it's a tall ride. On highway 18-20+ mpg. BEDRUG and roll-up cover. Love this truck!Oct 30, 2010

Ford makes the best truck. Power and comfort. Pulls the boat, race jeep and plows snow with comfort and style. I will own this truck until the wheels fall off. I have 3 other Ford trucks in the fleet and won't look at anything else.Oct 03, 2010

the performance on this truck is great. handles good and has more than enough power. have not had anything break or any problem whatsoever. interior and exterior are both in great shape. gas mileage is poor but its the price you pay for having it.Nov 26, 2009

the 7.3 diesel is an GREAT motor. it's no cummins, but i would say very close. and diesel is way cheaper than gas. built like a tank. the auto trans is just fine, but i would much prefer the 6 speed. load capacity is more than most would ever need. bottom line, it's great for work or taking up a canyon, looks good, and will last foreverJun 23, 2009

Good ranch truck. I like the 5.4 3v for off road use.
Locking hubs are better for off road as well.
Hauled 16,000 lbs well. 12 mpg. Built tough. I like
how the silver paint has held up.
It isn't a ranch truck unless it has a bench seat.Dec 31, 2008

it has plenty of power and capable of going almost anywhere or pulling anything you need. its a very well built truck and i havent had any problems with it. the appearance is pretty bad because it was my grandpas farm trcuk but trucks arent built to look pretty they're built to get the job done and it does a very good job at it. maintenance is fairly low since its a diesel. it gets around 16 mpg. its a blast to drive off road in 4x4 and and a six speed granny transmission.Oct 16, 2008

I love my truck! It is huge and has tons of room! It pulls really well and has (knock on wood) never let me down through almost 110k miles so far. It is great to drive, feels really powerful! My truck is red... his name is Clifford, the Big Red Dog.Sep 03, 2008

Great for trips , hauling lumber, fancy enough to take friends out to a fine dinner or party, and pulls the Sundownner 777 goose-neck horse trailer with little effort. May 18, 2008

The most reliable truck I have ever owned. Heavily tuned diesel motor that gets
20 miles per gallon, and has about 450 horsepower! I have been on many road trips with this truck.Mar 21, 2008
