I purchased a 2020 Chevy Malibu on February 14th, 2024. Since then, the vehicle has been plagued with issues. The check engine light is constantly on, and when a sensor fails, multiple problems seem to arise. For example, the first time the check engine light appeared, the dash dinged and displayed messages like “steering assist reduced, drive with care,” while all the gauges would jump around. It also showed “low fuel,” despite the tank being full, and the message “service ESC.” The root cause was the throttle body, which needed to be replaced.
Subsequently, similar issues occurred, and different parts had to be replaced, including the mass airflow sensor, the accelerator pedal, the brake vacuum pump sensor, the brake vacuum pump, and components related to the charging system. At one point, there was a ground issue. Then there is the constant “shift into park” after parking the car.
Overall, this car has been nothing but trouble, and I would not recommend it to anyone.Mar 01, 2026

Very quiet and smooth riding car. The car handles exceptionally well, with tight steering and superior responsiveness. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a solid and attractive car. Also, the gas economy is rated at 29/36. May 15, 2023

the RS is crap
the LT is nice ok for city driving and good on gas

The car has all the features Im looking for, from great gas mileage to Apple CarPlay. Thee car is a great value for the money. The only feature this car is missing is an inverter, but those are only important on long road trips. I was also looking at the Hyundai Elantra, and this car is a close competition. Aug 07, 2022

The premier One of the NICEST vehicles I’ve ever driven. Coming from someone who’s previously owned a Mercedes S600. The quality for the price point is insane on the Malibu premier. It floats like a cloud at highway speeds, has extremely comfortable heated and cooled leather seats, and the air system is top notch. To top everything off, the Malibu Premier is one of the absolute quickest sedans under 40k if not the quickest. 0-100 yesterday. Need to pass someone on the highway? Done in a split second and you didn’t even spill a drop of your open coffee in the cup holder. After driving one, I CANNOT see how people settle for base models, or even worse, something as junk as a Kia or Hyundai instead of opting for a nice quality sedan. Spend your money wisely and get a Malibu premier. Jan 10, 2022

Malibu LT w2LT is worthwhile purchase since vehicle comes with Driver Confidence Package, 2.0L T engine which performs very well for pickup and can easily merge lanes on a highway. Has a smooth ride, easy to drive. If you can find it with leather seats even better. Vehicle has Apple Car Play/Android Auto. Sep 08, 2020

Yes this car is great
I just purchased one recently and I am completely happy with my choice. It has up to date features including android auto and apple music, bluetooth capabilities, bright fog lights for dark road and drives smooth. I would compare this car kia Optima as far as drivable.
