gutsy German Ford. Had a 2.8 liter engine with a killer 2nd gear. Engine always leaked oil from every gasket it had. Very quick acceleration. Lousy brakes, and rotors began warping in a quick rain shower. Poor exterior paint promoted rust, especially on the roof and rear door. Had the infamous Ford 30,000 mile water pump. I replaced 3 of them and sold the car before I had to replace the 4th. Each one of the water pumps blew out at exactly 30,000 miles on the nose. Was a fun car to drive, comfortable for a smaller car, and had the best vinyl seats I've ever seen. Over time the car began to nickel and dime me to death with heater problems, brake problems, and hydraulic problems. Had a goofy clutch cable that developed kinks and eventually failed. I replaced 2 of those. All in all for a 70's car it was a pretty nice car for $3500 brand new. Parts began to be a problem as Ford discontinued them. This car was imported for only a few years.Oct 31, 2009

This is my first new car ever. I bought it out of college in 1976 and I still drive it today, 32 years later! It's perhaps one of the best cars I've ever owned. It's was reliable and fun transportation as my only car for 11 years. My wife and I moved to California from New York, and then back in this car. My oldest daughter came home as a new-born in this car! Now she owns one of her own.Aug 07, 2008
