No other car is as fun to drive as the original Mini with a 1275. Of cause we all know that Lucas invented darkness, and the original drum brakes were made for 38hp not 78, but that's only part of the charme.Feb 07, 2009

1380 full race engine..straight cut gears..extremely agile and responsive for a 69..every part is upgraded..looks and drives like a rally car..expensive to run, about 15 mpg average..0 to 60 7.5..top speed 125ish..great fun to drive ..it upsets a lot of bmw mini ownersFeb 04, 2009

Who doesn't love a Mini, who doesn't have a Mini story?
This is simply a brilliant car, so it may not be the best performer but that's easily improved. The handling is what sets the Mini apart. It's just fun.
It was my first car, and I will own it again one day.Sep 01, 2008

I had coveted this car for many years and when the opportunity to buy a second car came
up, I launched on it. Not a cheap buy at $9K but the body and interior had been fully
restored and it had a stunning and expensive paint job. It had a 1275 Cooper S engine
bored out to 1310cc, front discs and a couple of other little things, but was mostly stock
otherwise.
Man, what a blast this car was to drive! In 18 years of driving, probably my favorite all-time
most fun moments were in this car, most notably a drive into the Sunshine Coast
hinterlands on incredibly winding roads. I had a numb feeling of joy and a stupid grin on
my face for the whole drive.
All good things go bad though and lil' Blue began to break down at every opportunity. I
needed reliable transport and this wasn't it in the end. If I could've afforded it, I would've
kept it on as a hobby car, and I still miss it several months later. It was a beautiful car and
drew a lot of admirers. Sold it for what I bought it for, so not a bad investment.Mar 22, 2008

Its still mad! Plans are for shaving the seams, hinges and mirrors. Fitting gr5 race arches... cooper s grill flat bumpers and little race mirrors. Repray in mettalic red with 2 gold stripes over the middle. Very heavy tinting. And sitting low on 13x7 3 peice superlights.
Oh and lets not forget the plan to fit a turbocharged hyabusa motor into the back! :) hahaFeb 06, 2008
