best pick up you could ever want ! cheap to run being diesel, holds loads of stuff in
the back because its the 109 lwb, 3 seats in the cab, holds loads of weight with its
leaf springs, 1970 so tax exempt, cheap to insure, parts are also very cheap and
there are loads available, also this one is a ex-army so has heavy duty parts on it.
also i can get in to classic car shows free.May 27, 2012

The only car that has ever truly fitted me. Helps it was customised to me :-)
A 88 coil sprung special ex comp. safaris motor with a roll cage, v8 and not much
else! Noise, wet, no windows (had to make some). Fantastic experience.Jun 28, 2010

not fast but but will run at 70 all day long.
brakes are not bad and the handling isnt overly bad for a 40 year old car (its just like driving a truck in the old black and white movies lots of movement in the steering).
no major repairs just basic maitainence and serviceing,
cannot say about squeeks and rattles as you cannot hear anything over the wind when driving (also it hurts when you get hit in the face by a bee)
styled by the army in typical squadie fasion ie lots of thick paint and trimmed with cammo and equipment (gpmg is a must though)
cheep to run got from birmingham to seven oaks in kent on 3/4 of a tank £25 ish £65 year to insure and cheep to fix
this is awesome to drive and turns more heads than any other vehicle ive ever been inOct 03, 2009

It was fitted with a Rover V8, so performance was better than adequate!!
Build quality better than mid '70's Rovers (had a few of them), still had original chasssis at 35 years old.
Parts were cheap as, only high running cost was the 5 to 20 mpg (depending on if off roadin gor not).Jun 12, 2009

love it 0-60 never, doesnt corner, noisy, smelly, wont start, tax free, her indoors hates it. gives off clouds of smoke on start up, half of it is in the shed... looks like it would kill you if it could...Apr 18, 2009

Amazing! The shape of the Landrover! A go anywhere classic with great usability value! One of few cars which are appreciating in value. Very cheep to maintain great fun all year round and better off road than most new 4x4s. Feb 28, 2009

Great 4x4 performer.
The best 4x4 ever.
Great quality (if well maintained)
The car looks just fine for a basic 4x4.
In my hometown (Colombia) the car was cheap to
own.
It is the most joyable car to drive!!!
If anyone wants to have fun with a 4x4 vehicle, get
a Series II Land Rover.

This is a lovely that even Charlie B would be proud. It has a rotted chassis but is waiting for a new one and should be back on the road with in five years. Top speed of 60 odd mph. Has 4 wheel drive and two diff locks. All in all a very nice Landrover Series 2 a!!Sep 06, 2008
