With a 29bhp side valve engine, it was flat out at 60mph (although I did see 75 on a downhill section of the M5). It did have a 4 speed gearbox, unlike the Fords of the same age, so it would manage steep hills. Having 4.50x17 tyres it cut through snow and slush (I remember passing an Aston Martin that was getting excessive wheelspin.) Alll maintenance could be carried out with 3 Whitworth spanners and a couple of screwdrivers. Even the body panels were bolted on.Feb 10, 2012
