The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a beloved sports car known for its fun and engaging driving experience, outstanding handling, and stylish design across all model years. Owners consistently rave about its nimble performance, responsive steering, and lightweight structure that enhance the joy of driving—especially on winding roads. However, common critiques include limited cargo space and a somewhat cramped interior, which may not suit everyone. While some drivers wish for additional power and modern tech features, the Miata remains a top choice for those seeking a spirited roadster that delivers thrills on every journey.

What people say
I absolutely love this car! The seat hugs me and is so comfortable. I use the heated seat feature every time I drive as it feels good on my back. There is plenty of leg room for someone 6 ft tall, but it is also good for me at 5’3”, as I can move the seat up. I like that I’m sitting up a bit more than sitting on the floor like a lot of sports cars I driven. The steering wheel is adjustable so I can see over it. It feels very roomy and has plenty of headroom for a small car. I have gotten many compliments on it as it is sooo cool!! And it is so very fun to drive! When driving with the top down, my hair doesn’t fly all over the place, and I can talk normally without raising my voice with my passenger. It also has blindside warning so I don’t worry about hitting a car in my blind site. It has a nice size screen for navigation or seeing my XM radio. The trunk is also roomier than I was expecting. The top is super simple to put back and can be done in seconds! The only thing I would change on it is I can’t pull the sun visor out and move it to the side if the sun is on my left. Otherwise, pretty darn close to perfect!!
Fans of the Mazda MX-5 Miata already know that this is the most popular sports car of all time, for many good reasons. The great handling, 30mpg highway and overall sensible design of the car, combined with its outstanding reliability and low cost of ownership, make it a great car to own. The 2008 is from the NC series, or 3rd version of this classic car. The NC, with the larger 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine, is a totally redesigned version, yet is a stylistic throwback to the original NA series car. I wasnt fond of the NB style body. The 2008 NC is the last year before the designers at Mazda introduced the smiley face shaped grill, so that became the cutoff date for my being interested in the car. The soft convertible top has an improved design which makes it easier to use. Also, the available power retractable hardtop option is seen as a great improvement—a best of both worlds solution. My 1992 Miata M series was my daily driver for over 20 years. Im replacing it with a 2007 Mazda MX-5 which I found after a 2008 model I was looking at became unavailable. I am awaiting delivery of the 2007 car as I write this review.
Great sports car with everything you need to have fun. Manual transmission is a pleasure.
The car is a fun car to drive. Definitely a weekend toy! Low maintenance. Great on gas and handles very well. A little more HP would have been appreciated. However, its still a great car!
In one word:pristine. Low mileage. Very clean interior and engine. Perfect paint. I only hope I can keep it as nice during the time I own it.
