Lincoln MKZ (2006-2012) for Sale near Amherstview, ON
4.2 Overall rating
(73 reviews)My previous cars were a Cadillac STS and a Jaguar X-type. I really like both of those cars, but the maintenance cost was higher than I wanted to deal with. I still wanted some luxury features, decent power, but with greater reliability and lower maintenance. I found what I was looking for in my 2009 Lincoln MKZ. I got a premium THX sound system, heated and cooled ventilated leather seats, power windows, sun roof, a strong V6 engine and good body styling. It is a good car for trips with the family as well as being a good commute car. I have even done legs of vacation trips from the backseat of my car, where I was quite comfortable. My mileage has been running about 19-20 MPG, with the lowest at about 18 in traffic or with a lot of snow and as such as 22-24 for pure highway driving. The AWD system has been great. One of my other cars is a Dodge Durango, and while the Lincoln is not a 4x4 it does the best in the snow of any non-4x4 I have owned. My brother owns a similar year Ford Fusion Sport. Having driven both cars, I find them very similar. I think the seats and sound system on the Lincoln are better, the styling is a bit different, they are otherwise very similar. On the other hand, the price difference between the Lincoln MKZ and similarly equipped Ford Fusions was only about 10 - 15%. That being the case, why not get the Lincoln?
I have a 2008 MKZ. The optional equipment that I have on this car is the AWD system, power moonroof, HID headlamps, satin/aluminum pkg, and the THXII Audiophile sound system. Performance: As far as performance goes, the 3.5L V6 love to rev up high and fast. 0-60 in 6.8 sec. The transmission is very well spaced out but have a hard time finding the right gear when I need to pass. From a standstill at WOT the computer automatically shift most of the power to the rear wheels so there wouldn't be any wheel slippage up front. The brakes seam a little bit underpowered for a car this size. The brakes seam to fade too fast and doesn't feel up to the task for simple braking. This car is still based on a FWD platform and understeer seams to be a problem but outside of that the AWD is as sure footed as boots in a snowstorm. Build Quality: The 3.5L is still a very new engine but ford has turned their act around so i'm sure that the engine would last for miles to come. I did have some rattles that the dealership was able to fix somewhat. Interior: The interior is very nice and comfy. The heated/ cooled seats work very well. At night the bright white lights that light up the dash is very well needed and the controls is very well spaced and is easy to use. The Sync system is something above amazing and is glad that I have it. The sound system is very nice but not really worth the 1K that I had to give up for it. Exterior: The rear looks sporty its just a shame that the front don't pick up were the rear end left off. The HIDs could be aimed a little upwards for better light. Cost of Ownership: I love the gas mileage, its above the EPA estimates, i'm pulling off 19 city and 25 highway.... thats something that I can live with. $25 for a oil change is more than OK and the oil can last for 5000 miles. Fun Factor: This is far from a drivers car, but I still love to drive it.
Smooth, sleek and compact. Enjoyable and luxurious ride. Love it!!
Bought this Lincoln off of a lease with around 35,000 miles and have put another 25,000 event-free miles - I was going to buy a small SUV, but prefer driving a sedan - the all-wheel drive makes it an excellent commuting car for New England weather and with the rear seat backs down, you can fit a bicycle... almost anything really. The car is well-built and handles reasonably well - it's not a sports sedan - more of a cruiser, but has plenty of power. My model has every option so the features are very convenient: auto-HID headlights that turn with the steering, auto wipers, backup camera, lane change and rear sensors, 10 GB "jukebox" 11-speaker stereo, Sirius radio, heated and cooled seats, bluetooth smartphone integration for phone and music, GPS, auto temp control.
I love the way this car handles. It looks great. This car is very comfortable and ample room for a mid-size car. The gas mileage is great as well. It accelerates nicely, maintains safe control, and is a pleasure to drive.
