Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Camry stands out because it begins the model’s ninth generation as a hybrid-only sedan. That shift gives it a fresh identity while keeping the Camry’s long-standing appeal intact: it remains a perennial favourite among families, with a reputation for reliability and safety. Toyota also positions it as a strong value proposition, helped by excellent fuel economy and up-to-date styling and technology.
It is also notable for offering all-wheel drive on every trim, which broadens its appeal for buyers who want extra confidence without moving away from a midsize sedan. At the same time, it is not without drawbacks. The engine can be noisy, and the voice assistant is described as finicky. Even so, the overall package is aimed squarely at loyal Camry buyers who want efficiency, value, and a familiar sense of practicality in a newly updated form.

Good value for a new car considering used prices are a bit crazy right now. Ride is smooth , absorbs bumps and harsh roads are not a problem for this car. I average about 60 miles to and from work everyday and so far I average 52 mpg, most of it is highway miles too. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone.

Bought a 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid yesterday and it seems like a great car. I really like the idea that I can recharge the electric battery just by breaking and letting off of the accelerator. It has a lot of room and it was comparably priced with the Corolla.

With 205 listings available, you have a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 4.89/5, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, exceptional fuel economy, spacious interior, and strong value compared with rising used-car prices. The expert assessment also points to its up-to-date styling and technology, plus a reputation for reliability and safety.
The main trade-offs are a noisy engine and a finicky voice assistant. For you, that means the Camry fits best if you want an efficient, practical midsize sedan rather than something tuned for excitement.
The market also looks supportive, with 47.3% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback highlights reliability, and the model is also described as dependable and trouble-free in the context of long-term ownership. The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by pointing to Toyota’s reputation for reliability and the Camry’s history of strong evaluation results.
Toyota’s hybrid system is designed to work in the background, which supports a low-stress ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core dependability and more about living with the Camry’s noisy powertrain and a few convenience-feature omissions.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base SE trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels and a cloth-and-SofTex interior, while SE Upgrade and XLE move to black 18-inch wheels and the XSE gets 19-inch wheels. The higher trims also add more upscale cabin materials, so you should check whether the features you want are missing from the lower-priced cars you’re considering.
- Powertrain: Every 2025 Camry is hybrid-only, using a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with electric motors. FWD models make 225 horsepower, while AWD models make 232 horsepower, and the electronic AWD system is designed to add traction with only a minimal impact on fuel economy.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, along with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist are included, while front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, and a panoramic view monitor are reserved for XLE and XSE.
- Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless charging and five USB ports. Higher trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver display, while XLE and XSE also add a 10-inch head-up display and a nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system.
- Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 4.9 L/100 km combined for the FWD version, 5.1 L/100 km combined for AWD models with 18-inch wheels, and 5.3 L/100 km combined for the XSE.
Which 2025 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SE Upgrade, XLE, XSE.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point into the hybrid Camry lineup. You still get standard hybrid power, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging, but you give up the larger screens and some of the more upscale convenience features.
- SE Upgrade: This trim adds a step up in equipment and is the best-value choice if you want more content without jumping all the way to the luxury-leaning trims. It also keeps the Camry’s core strengths intact: efficiency, standard safety tech, and all-wheel drive.
- XLE: Choose this if you want the more comfort-focused version with the richer cabin and the extra convenience features. It adds the larger touchscreen, fully digital gauge cluster, head-up display, JBL audio, and the parking and camera upgrades that make daily driving easier.
- XSE: This is the most style-forward and fully equipped trim, with the largest wheels, sportier exterior details, and the same high-end tech and safety upgrades as the XLE. It suits you best if you want the most distinctive Camry without sacrificing efficiency.
Front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, and a panoramic view monitor are standard only on XLE and XSE.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Camry?
It looks like a buyer’s market if you’re shopping this Camry now.
- Deal availability: 47.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 205 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.53% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $40,088 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $40,332 CAD sits slightly below last year's $45,589 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower average price than last year’s market, which can help reduce depreciation pressure over your ownership period. Strong demand for efficient, well-regarded sedans should still support values better than many alternatives.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Camry safe?
The 2025 Camry is too new as of this writing to have completed crash testing with independent safety organizations.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, and road-sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard on every trim, while XLE and XSE add front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, and a panoramic view monitor.
The main caveat is that the most advanced parking and camera features are not included on the lower trims. Even so, the standard safety suite is broad, and the lane-keeping system was described as firm but still easy to override.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 47.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.53% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It launches the Camry’s ninth generation with a hybrid-only powertrain and standard AWD on most trims.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds a sporty Nightshade Edition package and a new Cosmos Blue paint colour.
The bottom line: If you want the newest hybrid-only Camry with strong value, broad safety equipment, and a softer used-market price, the 2025 is the better buy. If you’re mainly shopping on price and can live with a mostly unchanged follow-up model, the 2026 may be worth a look once its market settles.
