its been on my bucket list since 2002. But I have gotten some mediocre statements from dealers, indicating that they never did well, and that the 350 has motor issues because it cannot handle much hard driving, but the500 has less issues with the payload issue. I purchased one and it died before I got home, but I love the practicality of a wagon that is that sexy a Mercedes, and with that much room.

this will be our 6th mercedes. why would we drive anything other than a mercedes.

If you are looking for a comfortable vehicle with 6 of 7 passenger seating and the option for massive cargo space with the back 2 rows of seats down this is a great choice. I have owned the 2006 model and currently have the 2011 diesel model, my son now has the 2006 model with over 202,000 miles on it and going strong. the 2006 did not have a backup camera which I had wished it did, but the 2011 does and it is a great help. The R series is a mix of wagon, SUV and crossover. As with any vehicle you need to maintain it and it will give you many miles of service.
