4.2 Overall rating
(5 reviews)my truck is in good shape and i will be the last owner, it only had 82000 miles on it and its a gm it will last for hopefully ever i will buy another gmc very nice truks and good quality
performance is amazing, has a knock off flowmaster muffler, has 20" DIP wheels, runs a 16 second quarter mile down the drag strip, i love this truck it is amazing, only complaint is the transmission truck has just over 100,000 miles and is on its third tranny
After a long wait my dad bought this truck in 2003. I was in high school at the time and I thought it was awesome: it had a CD player, room for 4 of my friends via the useful quasi-rear-doors, RWD, and a V8 engine. Before the Sierra I had only experienced a series of weak-to-mediocre performers, and while this truck was far from fast, there is something to be said about that HUUURRRRRRR sound when you plant your foot and feel yourself flatten slightly against the seat. The Sierra isn't all V8 fun. It needed a new transmission at 75k (too much HURR?), it's a gas guzzler, parking it requires some kind of clairvoyance, and the interior is atrocious. All the cheap, ill-fitted plastic buzzes at highway speeds, and my dad uses panel gaps to store business cards in. Then there's the handling. The driver is completely isolated from what's going on down there. This is fine on a worksite, or on dirt, or even on a country road listening to CCR and not paying attention to anything anyway. But for day-to-day driving the vague steering and floaty, lurching suspension get annoying, like a fat man on a unicycle made of marshmallows. This may be less of an argument against the Sierra as against full-size trucks in general. They're just not very good as daily transportation, and even small trucks can do most work tasks nearly as well as a half-ton. I mean, the Japanese are an extremely productive people, and they get by with tiny 660cc pickup trucks! Then again, few Japanese know the joy of pointing a GMC in vaguely the right direction, mashing the gas pedal, and... HHUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRR
I love my truck its small but not too small. Its okay on gas and dosent suck it up like other trucks. It does pretty well off road until you lose control and wreck it like my brother did. It accelerates okay its not the fastest but it gets you from point a to point b. Too bad its not going to mine anymore for i am going to upgrade very soon!!
