The preformance is great for towing with the small 4.6L v-8 Ford stuck in it. Acceleration and braking have some lacking. Its a ford so repairs are few and far between. I DO NOT like the contour styling of this generation. Thats why this is my womans truck. I drive a monte carlo (at least until I find a good mustang or f-150 with a 5.0 v-8), if that says anything about this style and motor. Gas mileage is pretty good we are getting 22-26mpg. I hate driving this thing but for some reason my woman loves it.

No rattles or squeaks (and this is Michigan where 1 winter usually does in most vehicles). The ride is comfortable and quiet. This is my 4th F150. and I've found them all to be hard working and reliable. I had another 1997 with the 5.4L V8 and the power difference between the 5.4 and the 4.6L is substantial. If you have a choice, get the 5.4L (but also know that it costs more to maintain).

The truck rides exactly like one. It is built like a truck, so not much care for quality to speak of. It is very cheap to maintain and insure, which is a plus, but the fuel mileage from the 5.4L Triton V8 is a gas-hog.

has a good motor and tranny, nice to look at, can tow anything although sometimes has trouble on hills. Bad on gas but rides nice and is awesome in the mud - can get out of anything in 4WD Lo. The seats aren't the most comfy but i love sitting up high and being able to see all around me. Fun to drive - takes off fast at lights!
