(6 reviews)Performance- really good Build quality - had awesome build quality, lasted 25 years no problem Apperance - sexy shape and had the best stripes Cost of ownership - very expensive on fuel but it was worth it Fun Factor - had fun everytime i drove it
As sometimes happens, my wife and I needed to move her mother in. As a result we needed transportation with more room than the 1982 Ford escort that we owned. The room and comfort of this station wagon was excellent. Bought my first real family car. I could relate to the Grizwalds.
a fun car, but didnt have enough power
302 small block flat tappet comp cam Edelbrock intake 4 barrel carb and msd ignition. tci racing transmission. 373 gears air shocks and center line wheels on kelly chargers. this car is great. bought it for 1500 bucks what a steal. its really fun to drive.looks good could use some paint but ehh.
I bought this car about two years ago (2010) with 52,000 miles on it. Pretty low for the age. At first I did not believe the odometer, but when I drove it, it was one of the smoothest riding cars I have ever driven. After I replaced the ancient tires, it was even smoother. I replaced the brake lines and pads, belt, and battery, and maintain it regularly and it has given me around 30,000 miles of trouble free driving in two years. I drive over an hour and a half every day averaging 400 miles a week. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country and back tomorrow! It is comfortably cozy with a one child family, but if another child comes along I would have to get something a bit bigger. Handling is tight, for an American car that size, and I average around 25 mpgs. Oh, and that V-6 is torquey! I can beat anyone off the line at a stoplight...but they catch up with me around 25 when the bottom drops out...overall a great perfoming and driving car, though. If I could find them, I would buy a fleet of them! I am also impressed at how well it gets around in the snow. No contest the best snow car I have ever driven. ( jan 2015 Update--I not longer have this car--head gasket blew out, which is a common issue with the V6. It would have been a cheap fix, but with a new kid, I did not have the time to do it. If you do get one of these cars, I would recommend being able to do major engine work, just in case)
