What’s New for the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5
The Ioniq 5 did not receive any mechanical or cosmetic updates for the 2026 model year, so it carries forward in Canada without any significant changes.
Design
The Ioniq 5 is a compact crossover with unique styling elements. It features pixelated lighting fixtures with unique shapes and a striking look. Hyundai Canada offers eight exterior colour options, including two with matte finishes.
Powertrain
In Canada, Hyundai offers two powertrain options for the Ioniq 5 in 2026. The single-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model with a long-range battery offers 225 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant adds an extra motor for a total of 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft. The driving range starts at 463 kilometres for the AWD model and climbs to 504 km with RWD.

Interior
Cloth upholstery comes standard, but synthetic leather is available. Hyundai equips heated front seats in all models along with a power driver’s seat, and the AWD model’s Ultimate Package adds ventilated front seats and a power passenger’s seat. The front buckets are wide, nicely padded, and supportive, but the back bench could use more shape and bolstering. Cargo space is decent at 745 litres behind the back seats and up to 1,665 litres with the rear bench folded flat.
Technology
Hyundai equips a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard tech includes navigation, six speakers, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, HD radio, and more. The AWD model’s Ultimate Package adds wireless charging, LED ambient interior lighting, a digital key system, and a Bose stereo.
