What’s New for the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V
Following the Lyriq-V, the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V arrives as a performance variant of the two-row Optiq EV crossover. The “-V” designation signifies additional performance over the standard Optiq, although Cadillac clearly isn’t sacrificing usability or practicality for extra power. The new Optiq-V will be the first Cadillac EV to include a NACS charging port as standard equipment, meaning the Optiq-V can charge on the Tesla Supercharger network.
Design
The Optiq-V is styled more aggressively with an available carbon fibre package adding a front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear mid-spoiler. V-Series badging on the tailgate and wheels reinforces that this is not your ordinary Cadillac Optiq.
Most of the front end has been redesigned, and Cadillac has added a signature V-Diamond pattern into the lower grille. Blue accents — the signature colour of the V-Series — highlight the brake calipers and rear quarter-panel windows. All 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V models also have a black-painted roof. Eight colours in total are available on the Optiq, although four (Monarch Orange, Magnus Metal Frost, Deep Ocean Tintcoat, and Nimbus Metallic) are unique to the V-Series.
Powertrain
The 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V employs a dual-motor electric powertrain good for 519 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Although the standard Optiq is also a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) platform, it makes far less power (300 hp and 354 lb-ft). Both iterations use an 85-kWh battery pack, although the Optiq-V sees its range curtailed to 447 kilometres or 402 km with the optional 19.2 kW onboard charger (versus 510 km for the standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) Optiq and 488 km for the AWD version).
Cadillac also equips Brembo brakes on the Optiq-V to go with its chassis and drivetrain upgrades. The automaker estimates a 0-96 km/h sprint of 3.5 seconds. A new V-Mode arrives, offering launch control and a chassis-adjustment setup called Competitive Mode that engages torque vectoring on the front and rear axles. While not a magnetorheological setup like in some other performance Cadillacs, the Optiq-V will offer an adaptive suspension.
Interior
The Optiq-V is a two-row crossover with seating for five. Blue accents are scattered throughout the cabin, and an option package featuring blue seatbelts and blue front seatbacks is available. Two interior colour schemes are offered, essentially black and grey. The Optiq-V is equipped with quilted leather upholstery, available carbon fibre trim, and extensive blue interior accents.
Technology
A 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display takes centre stage in the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V. Featuring integrated Google Built-in software, it’s familiar tech to anyone who’s driven (or been driving in) a new Cadillac. In addition, a 19-speaker AKG stereo is standard.
Safety
Crash-test ratings from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) aren’t available yet on the 2025 Cadillac Optiq, let alone the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V. However, Cadillac does furnish both models with standard Super Cruise, the impressive hands-free driving system.
Pricing and Release Date
Production of the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V began in the fall of 2025, and the model is now available in Canadian dealerships at a starting price of $82,233. This includes the mandatory $2,800 destination charge plus other fees. This puts the Optiq-V’s opening price at more than $15,000 above the entry-level Optiq. Cadillac has stated that on other models, the -V variants make up about 10% of sales.
