Ford may have led the charge, so to speak, but it won’t be long until every Detroit Three manufacturer has a battery electric pick-up truck in its line-up. For Ram’s part, that entry will be the Ram 1500 REV, an entirely new vehicle that’s part of parent company Stellantis’s Dare Forward 2023 electrification plan.
REV stands for Revolution Electric Vehicle, which speaks to the importance this truck plays in diversifying the brand’s truck lineup. And at its launch, Stellantis is promising the Ram 1500 REV will offer the industry’s best combination of combination of range, towing, payload and charge time.
Interestingly, Stellantis is the only manufacturer as of this writing that is offering a range-extended electric truck alongside its fully electric offering. If you’re interested in learning more about the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, we’ve listed everything we know about it in a separate article: Ram 1500 Ramcharger: What we know so far.

2025 Ram 1500 REV styling
While the 2025 Ram 1500 REV is still distinctly a Ram, there are elements of its styling that distinguish it from the rest of the lineup. Rather than thinner and squared-off headlamps, the REV will launch with an LED headlamp design Stellantis calls a “tuning fork,” along with a lighting detail that extends into the grille to a backlit RAM logo. A body-colour front fascia distinguishes the REV from the rest of the lineup. At the rear, the design of the LED taillights extends out onto the tailgate to set it apart from other Ram 1500s.
Thus far, official information from Ram has not specified which configurations will be available for the 2025 Ram 1500 REV. Early press photography features a crew cab truck with a 5.5-foot bed, and we expect this to be the only option. Ram has indicated it intends to offer the RamBox feature, which adds lockable boxes to the exterior bed sides. A 115-volt outlet will also be integrated.
The REV’s charge port is positioned on the driver’s side front quarter panel. When the truck is plugged in and charging begins, a blinking LED and an audible notification are activated.
2025 Ram 1500 REV interior design and practicality
The Ram 1500 REV benefits from many of the updates coming to the rest of the Ram 1500 line-up for 2025. For example, lower trims will receive the 12-inch infotainment screen familiar to current owners of higher-end Ram trucks, and it will be upgraded with a higher-resolution display. In the Ram 1500 REV’s highest trims, a new 14.5-inch screen is available. In addition, a 10.25-inch horizontal display for the front passenger makes its way here from the Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Cherokee. This screen uses technology that blocks visibility from the driver’s side to reduce the potential for distractions. In Canada, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV will be available in five trims, including Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Limited and the new Tungsten trim.
Tungsten is Ram’s answer to the current trend of pick-ups moving upmarket. It integrates an indigo and sea salt coloured interior, platinum metal accents in two different textures, diamond knurling, a suede-wrapped headliner, and Natura Plus quilted leather front seats with 24-way power, memory settings, and a massage function. Tungsten trucks also feature a 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system, a crystal-effect shifter centre cap, new wireless chargers for two phones, and metal pedals.
Ram will match the capabilities of Ford’s Pro Power Onboard system by adding an onboard power panel in the truck’s bed. The base system in the Ram 1500 REV will deliver up to 3.6 kW of power to external devices such as power tools or appliances. An upgraded system will be capable of delivering up to 7.2 kW of power from the onboard battery. This could be used to power a home in the event of an emergency.
Since the Ram 1500 REV will not have an engine onboard, a powered frunk is integrated with nearly 425 litres of additional storage. Despite all this electric componentry, Stellantis says the Ram 1500 REV will be capable of up to 60 centimetres of water fording.
2025 Ram 1500 REV motors and drive
At launch, the Ram 1500 REV will be available with two sizes of battery. The standard 168-kWh battery pack has a targeted range of up to 560 kilometres, while the available 229-kWh battery pack targets a range of up to 805 kilometres. Both batteries can add up to 177 kilometres of range in approximately 10 minutes with 800-volt DC fast charging at speeds of up to 350 kW.
With dual 250-kW electric drive modules, the Ram 1500 REV is expected to deliver power specs of 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque. This is good enough for an expected 0-100 km/h time of roughly 4.5 seconds. Stellantis is also targeting towing capability of 6,350 kilograms (14,000 pounds) and a payload capacity of 1,225 kilograms (2,700 pounds).
2025 Ram 1500 REV price and release date
The Ram 1500 REV and Ramcharger are expected to launch together in late 2024. Stellantis has not announced pricing for either truck as of this writing.
