The EV revolution is well under way, and yet there are several brands that have yet to add a single battery electric vehicle to their line-ups. One of those brands is Lincoln, though it has indicated intentions to add at least three fully electric models to its offerings by 2025. The Lincoln Star Concept gives us the first hints of what Ford’s luxury arm has in mind for the first of those products. While it is only a concept at this stage and there’s no guarantee that anything shown will make it into the production model, the Lincoln Star offers a solid indicator of what’s to come.
Here’s everything we know so far about the 2025 Lincoln Star. Be sure to bookmark this page: we’ll update it as we receive more information.

2025 Lincoln Star styling
The 2025 Lincoln Star is a mid-size electric SUV. In concept form, it features some interesting elements such as a heavily segmented lighting signature, coach doors, and a hood that’s transparent while the vehicle is in motion but opaque when it’s stopped. We’re not sure how much of this will see production, but we do like the illuminated Lincoln lettering on the tailgate and the rakish, Aviator-like roof line, and we feel those elements are more likely to make the cut.
2025 Lincoln Star interior design and practicality
On the inside, the Lincoln Star Concept is very edgy, though we’re inclined not to get too attached to certain elements. We don’t think the 3D-printed A- and D-pillars, the pinstripe floor lighting, or the glass beverage chiller between the back seats are likely to pass engineering or pricing muster, for example. It’s entirely reasonable that Lincoln’s first EV could have a pillar-to-pillar curved horizontal display like the one shown in the concept, though, as it’s similar to the 48-inch panoramic screen found in the latest Lincoln Nautilus.
A centre control screen and additional second-row screens showcase a digital experience for all occupants. Reclined wraparound seating creates a rolling lounge of sorts, including a panoramic sunroof with a digital shade, integrated leg rests, and plenty of storage. Three rejuvenation moods can be adjusted through built-in controls.
With this concept, Lincoln also teases a new digital assistant dubbed the Lincoln Intelligence System. This will perform the traditional functions of a digital assistant while also offering connected vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure functionality and driver assistance features such as “Help Me See” and “Park for Me.”
On top of traditional cargo and frunk (or front trunk) storage, the Lincoln Star Concept includes a storage solution called the Lincoln Attaché. This hidden compartment in the rear door safely stores tablets and laptops out of sight while also acting as a charging pad. In the rear cargo space, integrated outdoor seating could make for great tailgating. These are features we hope to see make it through to the final product.
2025 Lincoln Star engines, motors and drive
As of this writing, there is very little official information on the electric drive systems in the 2025 Lincoln Star. The only hints we’ve been given are that both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations will be offered with multiple battery sizes. It’s reasonable to believe there might be some relation between the drive systems in the Ford Mustang Mach-e and the Lincoln Star, but at this point this and any other observations on drive characteristics are purely speculation.
2025 Lincoln Star price and release date
Lincoln plans to release three EVs by 2025, and an SUV based on the Lincoln Star Concept is likely to be the first. No official information on pricing or release date has been provided, but we expect pricing to start at roughly $80,000 Canadian and a production version to be released sometime in the first half of 2025.
