America’s ultimate automotive status symbol is going electric. The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ electric vehicle leaves the nameplate’s gas-guzzling past behind and replaces it with buckets of power, range, and technology. With an anticipated range of more than 700 kilometres and a larger, well, just about everything than just about every Escalade that’s come before it, we expect this behemoth of an electric Caddy to garner plenty of attention.
Here’s everything we know so far about the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ luxury SUV in Canada. Be sure to bookmark this page: we’ll update it as we receive more information.

2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ styling
The official measurements for the full-size 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ come in at 5,697.2 millimetres long, 1,932.9 mm tall, and 2,390.1 mm wide including the side mirrors. And if that’s not big enough for you, consider holding out for the longer-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade IQL that General Motors has slated to follow the Escalade IQ to market soon after its launch.
Some styling cues carry over from the gas-powered new Escalade, including vertically oriented headlamps and taillamps, though the latter has a body-colour break in the middle that distinguishes it from the rest of the line-up. A new 24-inch wheel size will be available, which is the largest ever offered on any Escalade.
2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ interior design and practicality
The front half of the electric Escalade IQ’s cabin is dominated by the new standard-feature pillar-to-pillar 55-inch-diagonal screen. A full 35 inches of this is dedicated for driver displays, while a 25-inch screen sits to the right for use by the front passenger. On the centre stack, another 11-inch touchscreen is used to adjust climate settings and ambient lighting.
The infotainment system is backed up by some serious sound equipment. Luxury 1 and Sport 1 trims (the entry levels) come with a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, while the higher-spec Luxury 2 and Sport 2 models feature a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference package.
To up the luxury quotient in the second row, an available executive second row package adds heated, ventilated, and massaging captain’s chairs with embedded headrest speakers, along with tray tables and a pair of 12.6-inch screens mounted on the front seatbacks. A UV-treated panoramic fixed glass sunroof spans the first and second rows.
On top of the maximum of 3,375 litres of cargo space in the cabin with second and third row seats folded, the frunk in the Cadillac Escalade IQ adds another 345 litres of front storage. Cadillac is dubbing this an “eTrunk” and says it’s large enough to hold two sets of golf clubs. An automatically opening and power-closing driver’s door will be available.
Cadillac also is also offering four years of scheduled maintenance, including up to 8 oil and oil filter changes, 8 tire rotations, and other select services.
Safety features include Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking that can help reduce the impact of—or avoid—cross-traffic collisions, Blind-zone steering assist and HD Surround Vision digital cameras so the driver can see in detail multiple angles around the vehicle.
The suite of driver assistance systems also includes optionally available Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.
2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ motors and drive
In typical operation, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will have 680 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. A Velocity Max mode allows drivers to activate up to 750 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque on demand. This gives the Escalade IQ a claimed 0 to 96 km/h time of less than five seconds, making it more or less as quick as the performance-focused Escalade-V. The powertrain consists of a two-motor eAWD system for secure cornering and four-wheel grip.
From a full charge, Cadillac estimates the 2025 Escalade IQ will have a 724-kilometre driving range (450 miles of range) from its 200-kWh Ultium battery pack. Its 800-volt architecture supports Level 3 DC fast charging rates the brand says can recover 160 kilometres of range in 10 minutes. That’s good, because you’ll probably need it if you decide to test the Escalade IQ’s 3,628-kilogram (8,000-pound) claimed towing capacity.
In Canada, Cadillac currently offers the choice of a $750 charging credit with FLO a Level 2 home charger installation from Qmerit with the purchase or lease of a new Lyriq. This offer is linked from the Escalade IQ page, so we expect it will be extended to this new vehicle as well.
Other features designed to give the Escalade IQ a premium ride include an adaptive air suspension with Magnetic Ride Control 4.0—including a Low Ride mode that drops the ride height by five centimetres—and rear axle steering. With the latter, the Escalade can maneuver sideways similarly to the Hummer Crab Walk.
2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ price and release date
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is expected to be available in Canada beginning in the second half of 2024. As of this writing, pricing has not yet been announced. However, we expect it to land well into six-digit territory. This means prospective owners won’t benefit from federal or provincial EV incentive programs—and, in fact, will need to budget for the federal luxury tax.
