the brakes are locked up.

Asked by Lydia Aug 07, 2020 at 03:35 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Montana Base Extended

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had new caliper's and brakes done on the front of my  Montana. Then the
brakes locked up. I took it back to the shop and they replaced the spindles,
brake hoses, and brake shoes. Now they are locking up again. What is causing
this?

Possible bad ABS pump or maybe they got air in the ABS pump when the bled the system. It takes a specialized scanner to bleed the pump.

Or your caliper bracket bushings are bad it's allowing the brake to push in but not push out because it's pushing too far in

But generally it's only the one side and normally the lock up so bad that your rotor and everything will start heating up you'll see it so actually not sure if it's that if it's both sides
