Won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving on highway
and started losing power
the RPM went high then
went back down it shot up
hot real fast I pulled over
let it cool down now won't
start at all

look under the oil fill cap what do you see ? crank it over and see if the tailpipe is wet smelling of coolant
