Ignition won't turn.

Asked by Christopher Dec 28, 2016 at 12:03 AM about the 2003 Pontiac Aztek STD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 Aztek and the ignition key wont turn to start
the car.  I have recently also had an issue with the
shifter not able to move from park.  To fix that I just
shut the engine iff, opened the door, closed it and
then restarted.  All was good.  IM thinking the two
issues may be related.  Also, I've had to jump the
car a couple times so the battery may be low, but
don't think it's low enough to inhibit the key from
turning.

You might need a new ignition switch- but WHY would you want to put money into an Aztek? the world is full of cars-

If the shifter won't move from park, remove the cup holders and under there are wires, one of the wires on my 2005 aztek was broken. After l repaired the wire the shifter worked again.
