Coolant fan dont come on van over heats

My coolant fan only comes on when i
turn on a/c. Why and how do i fix it?

Could be the temp sensor is not functioning and the fan is not getting the signal to turn on. When the AC is turned on, the fan will always be energized. Good news is that proves the fan works!
