2004 Pontiac Aztek overheating

Asked by Matt Oct 06, 2020 at 07:30 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Aztek AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2004 Pontiac Aztek with 145,000 miles. It’s
been very reliable since I purchased it with 100k.
About a week ago I’m on the freeway and the
“COOLANT TEMPERATURE HIGH” light starts
flashing and my radiator is leaking everywhere so I
pulled over and got it towed home.
I replaced the radiator, radiator cap, thermostat,
and water pump. And I bled the air from the system
as well.
The engine still overheats after about 5-10 minutes
of driving!
The only other thing I can think of is the head
gasket. Is there anything else it could be??

DO a cylinder compression check to see if your issue is the head gasket. I would try bleeding the system again.
