Worth it to buy a new bumper?

Asked by Rmarst May 08, 2016 at 04:12 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Vibe GT

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am looking to buy a 2005 Pontiac vibe from
a guy in Craigslist. I want to know from a car
person if this is a good deal. II've talked him
down to $3100. The only problems are that
it is a salvage title from an accident to the
front bumper. Car runs fine. But the bumper
they put on has chicken wire for a grille. So
my question is; how much would it cost to
get a new bumper and install it?

It is doubtful that it is a salvage title from a minor accident to the front grill. I would have the car looked at by a reputable shop prior to purchase.

Salvage titles are not written for cars with "minor damage". As"CarWhisperer" said, have it gone over by a reputable mechanic before you buy. Also, $3100 seems a little high for a 10+ year old Vibe.
