My car trys to die when i slow down and stop but doesnt

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car recently started running rough and
the idle seems off. I haven't had any issues
up until recently. It does just fine when I'm
driving but any time I come to a stop or a
start slowing down the Idol starts jumping
around and the RPM's will drop to almost
zero and the car will try to die and bring
itself back up, it does it worse if my air is on.
I assumed that it was an issue with the
alternator but had that tested even though it
was replaced last me alternator and battery
you're fine. It is not popping a code nor does
it have a check engine light everyone keeps
telling me it's fine even though I know it's
not. Any idea what could be causing my car
to do what it's doing?

I dropped my tank replaced the filter cleaned the tank and hose put fuel injector cleaner and gas in it and put a locking gas cap on it it starts but then dies afterca few seconds. I changed the spark pluggs today as well and they had quit a bit of oil on them i know i have a bad leak at the valve cover gasket how bad could this be and how do i know? I cant afford a mechanic so im doing this alone .... Help
